thanks for all the prayers!!!! i love you guys.

so heres an update & all my details.

i was feeling GREAT these last few weeks. i was able to eat, wasnt feeling weak or nothing! i was able to eat & everything. there was 2x in the past 2weeks where i threw up yellow bile. i contacted my nurse practioner after the first time & she said if it happens again.. let her know!

well.. i did. she requested i have an upper gi series. SUPER LONG AND DEVESTATING STORY SHORT...... i came in, had it done, was leaving & bumped into my surgeon who stopped me & told me i had a leak (in the hall way), got a CT scan, called my mom crying hysterical, met with my surgeon & found out that i had 2options.

1. gastric bypass.. ERRRR NOPE!

2. stent with a shot of botox.

but he told me i can be in the hospital for 8weeks!!!! WDFFFFFF???? 8weeks? not happening!!!!! i broke down & began crying hystericallly and uncontrollably when i heard this. then he said if i felt better sooner that i can go home. they dont see how i have a leak since i have no symptoms other than yellow bile. im doing GREAT!!!!!! smh.

so now, im admitted into the hospital. this is a nightmare come true & im waiting to wake up. they are going to place the stent tomorrow & i guess see where i go from there.

as far as one girls go with the nachos comment, as i stated on that post... the nachos basically melted in my mouth & did not cause my leak!

my surgeon says he believes food did not cause my leak so im not worried about that!

Hopefully this stent will do the trick and you'll be on the way to recovery soon. I wish you the best of luck , we are all here to support you.

***********UPDATE************

last night was horrible! my roommate is a bigger woman & she snores like a bear! i was growing agitated with every breath she took! finally i couldnt take it & i called a nurse & begged for another room.. they said they had none. i then requested some benadryl! she gave me the benadryl. i told her there was nooooo way i could sleep with her snoring that way. not only that... she is so loud & 24/7 on the phone! her phone was ringing at 1am & it was so frustrating.. i cant deal. shes making this experience so much worse. :(

Glad to hear that you are being treated, but it seems weird that your doc's first suggestion to heal the leak was a gastric bypass.

Have they placed the stent yet? I hope that goes quickly and easily for you.

Praying that you will heal well and quickly. And, no, I don't believe that one nacho created a leak in your sleeve either!!! :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
