Good luck Kimmie! I had surgery at Bailey this past Thursday. Everyone with that group is fantastic. All the office staff' date=' doctors, nurses, and Dr. Katsis and great. There would probably be some things they should work on. But, all in all, it was a good experience. If you can call any surgery a good experience. Lol......If you need to know something just ask. I will try to answer. Again, congrats!![/quote']

I will be having surgery at baileys on March 6th. I'm excited and nervous all at once. Wish it would just hurry and get here. I'm so sick of this liquid diet.

Good luck on Wednesday!

My surgery is 3/5 at Weight Wise in Edmond. Are you on the liquid diet for pre-op weight loss, or is that what your surgeon requires? I just have to do Clear liquids the day before surgery. I find it interesting how each facility seems to have developed their own way of approaching surgery.

How many days have you been on the preop diet, oknewme? It is rough. But, after about the third day, it gets better. I am 10 days postop. Can't wait to get to the soft diet this Thursday. I am ready for an egg and tuna. Never thought I would say that. Lol.........Hang in there. Do you have all of your preop testing finished?

My physician requires it. I laugh and sometimes say that I wish I had researched the pre-op diets instead of the surgeons. Good luck to you on Tuesday. We are so close.

You're right d. Every surgeon does something different. You would think there would be more standard diets. Good luck with your surgery!!

I have been on the diet since the 20th. Im to the point now that I just want the surgery over with so that I can get to the eggs and tuna. I hope everything is going good for you since surgery.

Everything is good. I really had zero pain after surgery. Just sore, but not pain. I didn't fill the prescription for pain meds. It took me about 3 nights before I would sleep in bed. I slept in the recliner. Now, everything is just normal. They will have you wear a binder of 2 weeks. I really supports your stomach and makes it feel better. Which surgeon do you have? I had Katsis. He is really great. Are you finished with all your testing?

I have Dr Varnell. I have all of my pre-op complete. It has went by really fast. I am scared a little but more anxious now. I'm so worried about a leak. That's all I'm truely worried about.

I had Dr Varnell, had an awesome experience with him and the hospital! I'm a little over a month out and down a total of 42lbs, including preop..

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
