January 2012 Sleevers!

Recommended Posts

Well, I've been home since yesterday morning and I feel like i'm doing pretty well. I can move to full liquids tomorrow and I'm looking forward to trying some pureed yogurt. As far as pain goes, yesterday I was taking my liquid lortab every 4 hours almost on the dot, today I've been able to stretch it to the 6 hour limit. I'm hoping to wean myself off a little bit more each day.

How long did some of you wait before driving again? I know it says to wait until your not taking the lortab so that's my plan.

I thought i was the only one taking the lortab every 4 hours!!! lol I'm 2 weeks out and i just started driving about 3 days ago. i would wait about a week and a half if i were you but you should ask your doctor.

Anyone start their period? Or I am the only one. Yea, what fun this is. It hasn't even been a week since surgery. I was hoping to get over the initial pain before I had to do acrobatics for a tampon.

Yes, I've been in pretty good spirits up until this morning and right now I'm cranky.

I'm actually very irregular but i just had my surgery on the 18th and i got my period two days ago :(

Doctor said it would happen since the weight loss helps so i wasn't surprised. I just hate dealing with two different kinds of discomfort at the same time!!!! But oh, well!!!

*the guys in this conversation are probably cringing right about now* lol

I had practically no pain with my surgery, which is uncommon for me, because surgeries in the past I was a wimp. I started driving after 2 days because I was not on any pain medication. My doctor told me I could drive as long as I was not taking any pain medication.

DEBSII,

I did, a few day after I was home i started too! I was about a week in a half early. So I'm guessing surgery brought it on.

Full liquids are sooo yummy!

My faves, so far, are:

half a can Fat free broccoli/cheese Soup, made with Water, blended with a slice or 2 of fat free cheese (to raise the protein)

half a can of fat free cream of celery, made with Water, blended with a half a can of chunk white tuna.< /p>

These take me an hour to eat, stuff kinda trickles slowly into my tummy, and leave me quite full and satisfied.

Debs you are way lucky. I tried doing that and my dr called me out saying that was purée not full liquid :( no cream Soups for me or blending anything in them. Oh and they made me quit after 30 minutes of eating. Thank goodness I'm on purée now

Mel, I think we are the same person lol. I'm the same as u with the Lortab and driving and starting mt period lol... Like surgery twins :)

Yeah, you are lucky, my doctor will not let me do any creamed or blend stuff in either. I was tempted but my new sleeve can be sensitive!

I just don't want to have my period now!! why can't it just stay irregular!! LOL j/k!! Hopefully i get rid of PCOS i have.

Yay for my surgery twin!!!! :cornut:

My doc calls full liquid, Protein Shakes, soups, greek yogurt, sf pudding as long as I add Protein (need 60-70gm/day) and as long as there are no pieces. What does your doc allow on the full liquid phase?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
