Anybody have Dr. Aceves and/or went alone?

Hi everyone!

I'm new to the site, and my surgery is scheduled for 12.20.2011 with Dr. Aceves. My surgery will be a LapBand revision. I have a few questions. Has anyone else had Dr. Aceves? Has anyone else had a LapBand revision? Has anyone else gone for the surgery alone? I'm a little afraid, but I just don't have anyone else to go with me. I'm crossing my fingers and praying that everything goes well. Thanks in advance!!

  • I'm going to Dr. Aceves for my Dec 1 surgery and I'm going alone. I'm looking forward to it. I won't have to share the remote!

There is no need to see your PCP for anything other than regular check ups. You can have your yearly bloodwork done by the PCP like anyone else would. Really this surgery isnt' like others and there i

NewlySleeved (and everyone else!) - thanks SO much for taking the time to post. I'm a little nervous and anxious, but hearing your story really helps!! My sister was supposed to travel to Mexico with me, but that's changed now, and I'll be going alone. She's the only person who knows I'm going. I have no idea how, when, or if I'm going to explain the weight loss to everyone else. I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. I'm just eager to start a new chapter.

I don't have much of a pre-surgery diet, but I am supposed to drink two shakes and have a sensible dinner, I think. I'm going to check this weekend because whatever I'm supposed to do, I have to start it Monday.

I'm happy to know there will be others there that I can talk to and bond with. It'll do me good.

Thanks again!!
