October 21st was the start of my new life!!

Hey everyone! My sleeve surgery was on October 21st and since then I have lost 20 lbs. I'm really excited about the weight loss and am hoping to get tips from those out there who have been so successful! So glad I found this forum!

I was sleeved 10/19/11. I lost 18 lbs in the two weeks prior to surgery and have lost 13 lbs. since the sleeve. I am still learning what my sleeve likes and what it doesn't. I am also trying to figure out how many calories I need in a day to prevent my body from going into starvation mode and keeping everything. I have experimented with 500 a day and that didn't work. 700 was not good. Now I'm going to try 800 (how I will get that many calories in is beyond me),

There is a group for us October sleevers called October 2011 or something like that.

That's awesome. I haven't even tried to measure my caloric intake. I'm still on mostly mushy foods which is driving me crazy. My doctor recommended I stay on each diet stage for three weeks so the week of Thanksgiving is going to be my first week on semi solid foods. I tried a tiny piece of fish the other day and it did not sit well with me, needless to say I was in the bathroom for most of the afternoon. I'm also HATING the Iron supplement. It is disgusting!!! Are you finding it difficult to find foods that go down well? Sorry for the complaints!
