Wow ... such impressive losses. I'm down 25 pounds since my surgery Dec. 27, 42 pounds total (need to update ticker,) and I'm not sure about the sizes. Probably about two?

Hooray!!!

Hey December Divas! Hope everyone is doing great. I myself have left 28 pounds in the dust never to be seen again. More than 20 inches all over my body, my arms the most, 4 inches! my husband said they were getting so thin! I have been doing all the arm weights as the gym to combat the jiggy bits, i am most worried about my arms and thighs. I can tell the way i am losing weight i am still going to be quite hippy lol. thats ok. I hope i dont lose all my boobies though haha. Hope everyone is feeling great.

I am 8 weeks out today and have lost 27 lbs. the weight is coming off slowly but consistently with only a short stall around the 3rd week.

I love my sleeve.

Tonight was the first time I ate out with friends. We went to Montana's, of all places. My husband got a very large doggy bag of food for his night snack...Lol.

December Divas! We Rock!!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to update you on my progress. I had surgery on Dec 20th and have lost 52lbs since Dec 1st when starting my pre-op diet. My starting weight was 296 and I'm now at 244. But I started dieting a couple of years ago on phentermine diet pills and gained half the weight back after I quit taking them. So I've lost 95lbs total so far from my highest weight of 339. I don't know how many inches I've lost but I can really tell the difference in my clothes. I used to wear a 5x in scrub tops and now I wear a 2x. Also I bought my first x-large top last week which is very exciting. I really don't like the flabby skin on my arms so I've been working out a little with some weights and I joined Curves last week so hopefully I can tighten up some of the loose skin. Today is my birthday so I had my first alcoholic beverage last night while celebrating the superbowl game and today I had my first dessert since my surgery which was a chocholate cupcake to Celebrate. I wish everyone good luck and hope all is going well!!!

What am I doing wrong? I was fat before my sleeve and now fat and depressed. I am so happy for all of you that are losing and so happy with your sleeve. I lost 5.5 lbs on my pre-op liquid diet and another 8.5 the two weeks following my Dec 28th surgery. My Dr was very pleased with my loss although I knew it was lower than most . I am scheduled fior my 6 week follow up on Thursday and had a "goal" loss of 6 lbs suggested by my Dr. I have been at a standstill for four weeks. I'm trying to be patient, but that is turning into depression. I have no idea what to do other than starvation. I'm doing all things right and getting 600-800 calories a day. I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubble, just voicing my frustration. I hope I wake tomorrow 7 lbs lighter.

Happy1957 please don't be discouraged! I went into a stall after only 1 1/2 weeks after surgery for 4 weeks! It was hell. Especially when I read about eveyone else's losses. Thank god I had this website to help me work through it. I thought, just my luck, I go through the trouble of having MAJOR surgery, had most of my stomach removed (really drastic!!), and I can't lose weight. This damn surgery doesn't work for me. Well, since the 4 weeks have passed (that would be at 5 1/2 weeks out from surgery), I am losing again. I am at 7 weeks and 2 days. I've lost another 7 pounds. And for me it's like, lose 2 pounds, gain 1, lose 2 more, gain 1. I don't get it. This really plays a head trip one you. For me it was "I've waited so long to be healthy and this. I want it all NOW! All I can say is give it ime. I KNOW it's hard honey.

Happy,,I know it has to be very discouraging. I've read alot on the site when people have stalls to change things up a bit,,try eating less or try eating more. Do different excercise programs..stir things up a bit and see if that changes anything.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am logical, know that eventually I will lose, it's a no brainer, I'm not eating enough to sustain my current weight. Yet at moments I am weak emotionally. Last night was one of them. Today is a new day. I can't wait to hit the Dr's scale tomorrow and hopefully get the ok to do some real exercise. Not that I want to become a weight lifter again, just wanted to be an average exerciser.

I don't think I could eat less without dizziness. My job is standing all day, running, running, running. I am exhausted in the pm and actually hungry all the time. I can't wait to see what the Dr say's tomorrow. I have had a couple episodes of near passing out over he last week. Not sure why, it just comes out of the clear blue sky. I am getting all my Protein and Water, I'm thinking a sugar drop from the lack of carbs.

I was sleeved on December 28th and I have become very discouraged. I have been stalled for the last 4 weeks. I have lost 30 pounds since I was sleeved, which I know is great, but you get so used to the weight just falling off in the beginning. The first few weeks, I lost 1-2 pounds a day! Now, I lose nothing.

I have been trying to focus really hard on my Protein intake and Fluid intake. I was just released to start exercising at my 6 week follow up appointment last week. I had some complications, so they didnt release me to exercise until later in the game.

Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on what I can do? I feel like my "honeymoon phase" is already over. :(

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
