Thanksgiving Challenge....

Recommended Posts

Thanksgiving is a little more than 5 weeks away. Is anyone interested in doing a Thanksgiving Day challenge??

For me it's kind of a cool day because all my judgemental family will be there and I'll be smaller than my always thinner than me nasty sister. I can't wait to go to that family get together and look sexy and amazing. She has put me down for years and has no idea that I had WLS. Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to showing her up???

Anyway, I'm more likely to work hard for a short term goal so anyone want to join me on this challenge??

Send a reply and tell us how much you want to lose before that fabulous day....

We'll encourage each other.

sounds good to me! I am currently 223. my goal for new years is wonderland!!! But, a short term goal is good! I need to refocus on a goal and start working my sleeve! I am in! My goal is 10 lbs....213. I am a slow loser and keep hitting stalls, so, i think 10 lbs is realistic! Good luck!!!

I am in! I am having surgery the week after to remove a rod in my leg and will be laid up for a few weeks. My best friend and I just got some flights to New Orleans from SW airlines they have a great sale but that is in January.

I would like to be in onderland - 199.9 is good for me. So right now that's roughly 8lbs but I am a slow loser. 15 would be better but I can roll with 8.

I will do the challenge. My current weight is 219 so will set a realistic goal of 209.

Starting weight 279.

Goal weight 160.

I'm in! My goal will be 6.2 lbs. I know that sounds wimpy, but I've been losing REALLY slowly the last 3 weeks. I think this is realistic for me. My BMI is 27 so it's going to go slow now, which is fine as long as I DO keep losing. I love having short term goals. Great idea!

I am in!

Surgery Date: 1/6/11

SW: 239.8

CW: 157.8

GW: 153

I know that is only 4.8 pounds - my actual goal is 155 - but I am thinking I want to go lower! :)

Ok, I'm at 173 and I would love to lose 10 lbs by Thanksgiving. My Hubby's 50th Birthday is the day after Thanksgiving so I'd really like to surprise him with a new sexy outfit. Time to step it up!

:D

Ok so how is everyone doing so far? I can tell you I've stepped up my exercise but guess what... I've also stepped up my calorie intake. I mean, for some reason I can't STOP EATING!!! I had a whopping 1322 calories just today. I really feel like I'm trying to sabatoge myself.

Someone please tell me they're doing great! Get me back on track.

Update: eventhough I had that one horrible day, I met my goal for the Thanksgiving challenge! Today I weighed 215!! I'm so excited because I would have NEVER been able to do this before my sleeve. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I thank God for my sleeve everyday and pray that this weight loss is permanent. Hope you all are doing well too!

Congratulations Wondering1! I also met my Thanksgiving goal of 177lbs this week. I thought it wouldn't happen because the scale barely moved in about 5 weeks, and then - BAM - this week I lose over 5 lbs! Good luck to everyone one else on reaching their Thanksgiving goal!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
