Can we delete the spam?

Recommended Posts

I like leaving it so I can still see the User name who posted it. If it's someone who comes back, we have a record of the spam. If everyone ignores it and doesn't post on spam threads, it goes quietly to archive land.

I know, most spammers log on with a different user name each time. But it doesn't hurt anything to let the thread go down down down the list.

Plus, I think the Mods have a great policy of leaving things alone. Spammers who get ignored go away.

Funny, why is it not good for the board? Just wondering, in case I'm missing something?

I don't like the spam either, but it's par for the course on message boards. Just roll your eyes at it and ignore it. :D LOL

The reason I see it as bad is that if we do not doing anything about it then the spammers see that we allow it and will come to do it more. I have been around for close to a year, and I have seen more spam in the last few months than ever before. I agree that if we do not respond then it goes away. But I have been on boards where it gets out of hand, and one out of 10 posts are spam. Just don't want to see that happen here as this site grows in popularity.

Good points. One out of ten posts being spam is definitely not good. And if it's allowed, and they keep coming back? Maybe if the Mods just locked the threads as they pop up? I don't know...

Our policy is that advertising is not allowed, period. We only can delete or lock spam if someone reports it, though, so please do so whenever you see any.

We "soft" delete it, which I think still shows who started it.

Very cool. Thanks. I do report it when I see it, unless I know someone else has reported it or a mod has already responded. I just hate to see it on a board. It is like a cancer. LOL It tends to grow out of hand when not checked.

The link you provided has been deleted so it appears spam does get flushed as soon as it's discovered.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
