Not getting my protein and feeling blue

Hi all. I need some help. My NUT says I should be getting 80 grams of protein a day. I hardly EVER do. I'm averaging 50-60 grams a day. That means I'm around 140 grams low every week. Is this going to hurt me in the long run? I'm really blue about this. I'm afraid I'm doing some damage to my body. My weight loss is going ok. Not complaining about that at all. Can some veterans give me some advice? Thanks.

tell us what kinds of foods you're eating and we can see where you can get more protein in.

I like to eat Greek yogurt, soft chicken, some cheese, Pure Protein bars, soft scrambled eggs. At lunch time at work sometimes I have Lean Cuisine microwave meals like the steak tips with broccoli.

My program says 60 grams for women. I just had my 6 month blood work done and my protein levels are fine at this point. It would be early for a problem to show unless you were really having daily lows (according to them) but my level was almost the same as pre-surgery. And I went through the first 3 months lucky to be averaging 50 grams per day.

Others might have suggestions as to the "risk" involved.

I think you're doing fine. You're getting protein in for your meals. I take it you don't like protein drinks? You can usually get almost 30 grams extra with one protein drink.

Cottage cheese is high in protein. So is soft fish. There is protein hot chocolate you can order online that's really good and also a pudding called Propuddinng by Body Tech. You can get it at the Vitamin Shoppe or Amazon.com if you don't have a vitamin shoppe. It's really good and has 25 grams of protein.
