MAKF, a whole lotta folks on here won't like me saying this, but I only count calories. I stay under about 800-900 a day. I do eat Protein first, but find that no matter what I want I can only eat a tiny portion. I am starting to exercise this week, but until now I haven't done that just because I don't have time. I'm gonna start zumba classes on tues and thurs. I have tried the Atkins type diets before surgery and they never worked for me, I have always lost better counting calories. That is just what works best for me. Thanks ya'll for the posts!

First of all, congratulations!

I haven't had surgery yet, so I am having difficulty understanding what you are doing differently than others. You eat Protein first and you are not overeating. What is different? That you eat carbs after the protein?

That's fantastic! I would be interested to see a little bit of what you might eat in a normal day . . . my food plan doesn't necessarily restrict carbs (just suggests Protein first, veggies second, carbs if there's room left and whole grains) and I feel like I will be more satisfied if I can have a bit of carbs with my protein/veggies.

I am down 25 after 5 weeks. Iam walking and doing hand weights. I went 12 days with no weight loss and it scared me silly. I also track every thing I eat. I love the feeling of control....lol! Congratulations! On your achievement!

Indymom, I don't really have a structured eating plan but here is what i had yesterday. breakfast- 1/2 of a fried egg, 1 piece of bacon. ( i couldn't eat the whole egg) snack- peanuts lunch- about 6 or 7 bites of spagetti meat sauce with very few noodles. ( again i was full on that) snack- 2 ritz crackers with a wedge of laughing cow cheese supper- i grilled ribeye steaks and baked potatoes for my family and my son gave me part of his, i ate about 6 or 7 bites of steak and 3-4 bites of potato. snack 1 oz of goldfish crackers. I know that some people are carb sensitive and it hinders their weight loss but I must not be, it has never bothered me. I use to eat a lot of sweets pre op and that is one thing i really don't eat now. I've had a bite or two and just have really lost the taste for them. I usually eat whatever my family is having only way less. I think my whole day of food is less than one meal was pre-op. LOL

You ignored my post and I'm a tad hurt :P , but I still want to say that you should write posts like this so we hear all sides of the story. It has great value. Again congratulations!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
