Just got my referral, now so many questions HELP!

Hi everyone, I just got my PCP referral from Kaiser for the Bariatric department yesterday. I am anxious. I know that So Cal Kaiser patients have to do the 12 weeks options class. But what happens before that? Am I already approved by Kaiser??? I just keep reading all these postings about insurance denial and was wondering what is kaisers process. Is the doctors referral all I need? I cant wait to get this show on the road !!!

SoCal is a little different than NorCal, but basically there is no official stamp of approval. Once you meet with your surgeon and they confirm that you are a good candidate for surgery, then you know you are on your way. Meet your weight loss goal and attend all other appointments, and you will get a surgery date. I suggest you join the SoCal group and speak to them directly for the specifics. Good Luck!!
