Yes we do have a lot in common. Where did you have your surgery done? I went to Dr Francis at Orange Coast Memorial in Fountian Valley. How are you doing so far with everything?

I live in Coachella Valley - Dr. Bobbie Palm Springs did my surgery

I am down 80.5 lbs - 9.5 to go to goal - all in all - i dont think this has been hard at all - i eat healthy 98% of the time allow myself treats occaissionally not often but enought - I exercise 3-4 times a week - I think I have finally got it - that this is a lifetime lifestyle change in my eating/exercise habit... It took 52 yrs - but by golly I think I got it.

What an inspiration.

Thanks !!! I love my band - it is a great tool - I love LBT as it is a great resource for support & education. I follow a weight watchers eating plan cuz I think it is the most well balanced - I can't do straight protien - I need my starches - I don't eat tons - but I do have rice for dinner almost every night.

Hey everyone, I was banded this past July by Dr Liu in Garden Grove, Ca. I was 197 and am now 176. I know it seems like a small weight to start out with, but Im only 5', my BMI was 39....Ive had 3 fills now and it was the last one that really kicked things into gear. Anyone else out there that started at a lower weight like me? Or the same BMI? Id love to chat.))

Hi Echokitty-

I had Dr Liu also. I am 5 ft also and started out at 218. Now am down to 155. I feel great but have stopped losing. I'm at a plateau, but I have not been exercising like I know I'm supposed to. If you wanna chat, drop me a line. Tamjpjb@aol.com.

Tami

It went well! He said that I was a good candidate and said I should hear back from their insurance coordinator within a week! Which of course, is WAY too long. ;) He also said I needed a clearance from my primary care doc and an upper GI and a psych eval. I've got them all scheduled, as well as 2 mandatory seminars and as of mid February, I'll be all set and ready to go. As long as my insurance agrees!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
