OH my gosh... you all brought tears to my eyes, thank you so much for such positive comments to me!!!! This forum is so great!

I was extremely nervous about posting the comparison pic, a friend did it for me!

If you look at my stats, I still have more than 100 lbs to lose..... only a handful of people on this forum start out like I did with such a large amount to lose... I need to be at the 140 mark.... I have lost over 80, but still need to lose 110 more.

I cant wait for the day to actually be able to say I have less to lose than what I have already lost!

Thank you all again..... it is incredible how friends/relatives will say nothing, no support... but here on the forum, I feel the kindness and positive vibes!!! :D

You go girl!!! I am celebrating with you and know exactly how good and bad it feels. But just remind yourself you are doing this for you and not anyone else. As for the amount we need to lose, who cares? We all needed to and are or did so I doubt any of that matters to anyone here. Just enjoy the ride and work on the next thing for haters to talk of you about like maybe where in the world you got that new outfit from or what nerves you have to wear those skinny jeans or new hairstyle lol.

Girl let me tell ya, you dont look like you weighed l the amount you say you started at. I can't tell you were over 300 lbs. You carry your weight well honey. You look great now too. I'm impressed with the 80+ pounds in six months. I would be thrilled to lose that much in six months. You look wonderful. If family and friends dont comment, please know it's jealousy. People dont hate on things they have themselves, it's what they wish they had they tend to hate. Girl strut your stuff proudly and keep paying it forward for those of us that will be sleeved soon.

MAJOR change from your before to your current pic. Many many congrats to you! I had a lot of weight to lose to (still do) and I'm a slow loser but I dont let it get me down. It'll come off in due time. You are doing amazing. Keep it up and congrats again :) . . . and I know what you mean about friends and family not saying things. So crazy but try not to let it affect you (easier said then done). Your pictures speak for itself . . . you've come a LONG way and look great.

WOW WHAT AN INSPIRATION YOU ARE FOR US PRE-OPERS. I am more ready than ever now and have 2 months to go on supervised diet. You have had amazing results. Please take us through your journey some, what are you eating daily, how much, did you have an uneventful recovery, etc. YOU ARE A SUCCESS!!!! Thanks for sharing your story. WOW

Hi,

this may sound odd, but I felt I was a slow loser compared to so many posts on here!

My choice in having the surgery and choosing the sleeve has been one of the best choices I have ever made. Like many have said, I only regret not doing it sooner...like my daughters wedding was 2 years ago, gosh how I wished I would have done this b/4 her wedding.. oh well!

My surgery was very much "non-eventful" --- Everything went fine, I spent one night in hospital, stopped taking pain meds by 3 or 4th day... no problem with protien shakes or liquids. I did experience bouts of nausau and wow.... when it hit my whole body felt "sea sick"..... it was odd, but it left by week 4....I totally had mood swings cause of the racing hormones, and that has all calmed down now.

My diet is pretty much Protein shake in the morning (even though some do not agree) I cant eat food in the morning, the shake is great on my tummy... I eat fat free cottage cheese everyday, and then chicken, turkey or seafood. I buy Atkins bars from Walmart and eat one almost every day. I love beef jerkey and have it quite often. My calories stay around the 1000 - 1200 range and my carbs around 35 -40. I do not have 3 meals a day, I have the 5-6 small meals.. I know there are others that do not agree with that either, but again, it works for me and we are all diferent! I have learned so much through this forum and I read a great deal about the surgery prior to having it... I felt I was very prepared mentally for what was ahead of me. I am determined and hope my determination stays in high gear.... it is a rush to go down a size in clothing...

I am thankful every single day for making this choice and I want to be a healthier person, I want to live my life normal and not be the bigger than life person all the time...

Good Luck, you wont be sorry!!!

Thank you!!! I have very, very thick legs! 2 years ago I had to have female surgery and the nurse in the pre-op room was asking me a bunch of questions, she got to how much do I weigh and I told her 310 lbs.. which was weight at that time, and she was shocked... it was embarrasing, but she told me how she see's 25-40 people a day for surgeries and never would she have guessed me to weight that much, etc... gheeze.... my husband was sitting with me and after the nurse left even he said he did not realize I weighed so much... It really made me feel low... but all that is going to go away!!!

I never thought it would be possible for me to lose this much weight....but now, I am a believer! It can be done!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
