This is all new to me

Hello everyone. My sister has encouraged me to visit this website. I'm in counseling at present to discuss the lapband and hopefully will have the procedure done in September. My sister insists that this is the website for the best support and information ever. Glad to be here, thanks for having me. Dorty

Welcome, Dorty! I think this is a wonderful group. I am not comfortable with a support group in a live setting. That's one of the things I hated about WW and Nutrisystems. There is a group available to me at my doctors clinic, but I don't go. I really feel I get all I need right here.

Welcome, And read read read. This site will answer all your questions and tell you things you didn't even want to know. lol You will always have support here just ask...

JMoe......thanks to you also. I believe my sister was right. You will see me here on a regular basis from here on in.

Dorty,

Welcome, There are people here in all stages of banding and non-banding!!! It's been a great place for me to find out information and have a few good chuckles thrown in too.

Terry :)

Welcome Dorty, your sister is right, this is one of the best things to have happened to me, finding this site. I do not have a support group available. I live in a rural area, in fact there is not even a Dr. in my state that does the surgery...so this site has been a Godsend. Any question I have or concerns...if I just want to whine...or am bored and want to visit...there are always wonderful people here!

I would suggest you read, anything and everything you can get your hands on regarding the surgery, and the Dr. you choose, as well as the hospital. Make very informed decisions. Some advice given to me, that brought home how serious of a decision it is, was to imagine that you are making this decision for your mother, sister, or daughter. You would only want the best for them, and you too deserve only the best. Personally the band has been wonderful, I feel in control finally...what a unique and wonderful feeling this is!! I wish for you the smooth uneventful surgery I had, and great success!!! Good Luck!

Kat
