I know you all are probably sick of me posting so much.. but I am a new sleever .. gimme a break! lol :)

How easy is it to get blot clots after your sleeve? I was up walking around a lot at the hospital after surgery.. that they really only hooked me up to that machine on your legs at night. I am up walking at home too.. however the pain med makes me sleepy and I get paranoid that if i sleep for hrs at a time ... that i will be at risk for blood clots due to not moving. Am i being too paranoid? I cant sleep well, or for more than an hour or 2 at a time because I im thinking about this in the back of my mind Im sure... it sucks.

I am by no means laying up all day.. i get up very frequently .. but for how long do i need to be up and around.? sometimes im just tired and sore and i wanna sleep :(

Any feedback?

Girl...I'm going to beat you! GO TO BED! LOL

I'm more worried about your lack of recovery due to fatigue! Your body neeeeeeds sleep and rest right now, you just went through major surgery. Blood clots? Do you have a clotting disorder? Does it run in your family? Did they give you a shot of Heparin or other blood clot medicine before surgery? Stop worrying...seriously, you're going to make yourself sick :( This is totally normal post-op so don't stress because you're going to be fine!

xoxo, Renee`

When you are awake, get up and walk around for at least 5 minutes about every hour. If you are asleep, REST and don't worry about it!!!

**puts away beating stick** ok good! You can sleep more than 2 hours, I promise! LOL

Seriously though, your body needs rest to recover. I'm hoping you do sleep more than a couple hours at a time because trust me, I know about broken sleep and it SUCKS!

*hugs*

Well, all else being equal (eg, blood clots are statistically pretty rare anyhow), I think getting some sleep will help your recovery much more than being up in the night stewing about blood clots will. :D

(That said, I totally understand -- I was paranoid about everything too. I had to take the blood-thinner injections for FIVE WEEKS though, so I'm guessing that helped me sleep easier...)

Hang in there!

When you are sitting down if you will tighten you calf muscles every now and then that will help. That is basically what happens when you walk and what the machine in the hospital was doing for you. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
