FRICK AND FRACK FOOD COMMERCIALS

Recommended Posts

Are you pre or post-op? I don't find much tempting post-op. And if I want to try it I find a couple bites makes me full and it isn't quite the same as it was before.

That first week of recovery that I spent mostly in a recliner in front of the T.V. was a bit tortorous. It was the damn pizza commericials that about made me crazy. At one point, I switched to watching the DVR so I could fast forward through the damn things. Hang in there! :)

I so hated sweets after drinking all the Protein Drinks. Never was a big sweets person anyway. Hang in there, sister! It gets SO MUCH BETTER!! :D ...and pretty quick I might add. Not sure what stage you're in, but after a few weeks in the solid food stage I was good to go!

Sonic, pizza Hut, Taco Bell. DAYUM. Half of me wants to be fat and just eat those things.

I know that's why I'm here now. I didn't get to have a food funeral per se. * sigh *

This sucks.

How funny! Those food commercials really got to me too! I never noticed them as much until after I had the WLS and sitting around healing watching TV, seemed like every other commercial was about FOOD!

I read a post recently and the person talked about losing her best friend of 34 years, her friend had seen her through many bad times, loss of jobs, loss of husband and then she lost her friend and mentally had to prepare for the funeral, etc.. she wrapped up the whole post by saying her best friend was food! If you really give it thougth I bet each one of us could relate to that in some way... food has been a comfort friend for me, never thought about having a funeral for it though!!!

I'm going to shake things up a bit today... no pun intended. I'm going to go get some egg drop Soup. I need something warm and savory in my life. Yeah, this mourning of food is pretty tough. I liked food because it was my quasi passport to explore other cultures. Its so easy to deem oneself a foodie. But if you're a foodie and not a workout junkie, then you end up here. While not hungry, mentally, I still crave things. Amazing how much tv influences our life's choices.

That is too funny, Amanda. It was the pizza commercials that were getting to me the worst also. My first day back home sitting healing in front of the tv, it seemed like every tv program was talking about burgers and even PIZZA burgers. Luckily I could find humour amongst the torture. I still have head cravings, but they are easier to deal with as I see the pounds fall off.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
