I woke up this morning to a site I never envisioned!! Did my normal hygiene, brushed, scraped my tongue. Hmmmm. it's sure looks funny...........black and moldy........ I brush and scrape again. Same results. Then I think, oh yea, I had a cough drop during the night. Musta been grape flavored. Went on my business, did some shopping, clean house, etc.

I take a check at my tongue again this afternoon................jeez, that black stuff is still on my tongue. Musta been a really strong cough drop. Then, it hits me.............I dont use fruit flavord cough drops, I use menthyol.......clear, no color!!!!!!!

using antibiotics (which may disrupt the normal balance of bacteria in the mouth) (I had sore throat and was using them

being dehydrated (trying my best to keep this from happening)

and not eating enough roughage (ya think???.

So, to sum it up..........it's harmless and painless, but dang, it sure is ugly!! I hope I didn't open my mouth too big today and have someone catching a view of this event in my mouth!!!

A lot of people in my family get this if we take products with the same ingredients as Pepto-Bismal. There's something in it that causes that to happen too. If you're taking anything like that it could also be the cause.

It has chacoal in it and does the same to me !
