1 week banded and I think I messed up my port!

Hi all,

:help:

I was banded on 6/19. The other night I was sitting on the couch and then used my elbow to hoist and shift myself, and I must have twisted the wrong way because, OUCH! my port spot caught on fire! It was very painful, I almost thought I had ripped the incision open, but no. I 'think' my post was kinda below the incision, but now it seems to be above it. Could I have moved it? Could I have flipped it? Crap. My Dr is out of town this week, but I will call as soon as he's back. But you all probably have some ideas on this...I hope?? What do you think? DH think 'maybe' I tore some of the new tissue adhering to it, but nothing bad happened. But man, it hurt! Should I be worried?;)

Thanks for any replies!

I had the same thing happen to me soon after surgery when my two year old was on me. My port is fine. I was told that whenever I move like that and it burns it is the scar tissue moving or ripping a little. It was gone within a day or two. If yours does not I would just call the office and ask what they think.

If i moved just the right way after sur. the port site area would burn and hurt and yes make you sit up and say hell-low low felt it most when tried to load dishwasher or dryer think it could have been a mental thing. But that stoped after a few wk.'s but if move just right sometimes will feel a little burn and pull

You probably popped a stitch. if it still hurts you should put a call into your doctors office. Someone else there should be able to say something one way or the other.
