I got my cardiologist clearance tests today, not loving the chemical stress test! I go in for my consult, NUT class and pre-op tomorrow in Dallas. I have my surgery date already, April 26, this is going very fast since I am self pay.

Congratulations to you!! I also have the same surgery date as you! 26 April 11.... I am not self-pay though and have been waiting 4+ months to finish the required 3 month supervised diet thing, which my last one is 11 April 11 and then I wait for insurance approval.... ((sigh)) If I could afford to self pay I would've back in Oct when I originally decided to do WLS. Good luck to you and please keep in touch!!!!

We all wish you the best of luck. I underwent a stress test last fall, it had to be chemically induced because I was having terrible knee, foot and back problems, I could not walk for the 10 minutes required. It is a real trip and happens very suddenly, don't panic because it soon passes, be sure to eat something hi carb afterwards to get your energy back - don't worry about the carbs, you have earned them by having this test.

Thanks, and the test wasn't terrifying as several had led me to believe but it wasn't fun, was VERY quick though. I am excited about my surgery and gawd awful scared as well. I keep thinking about the outcome and I'll be just fine. Hello toes : )>

I don't think I would have the nerve to wait that long. I hadn't even thought of doing this until about 2 weeks ago driving home from Houston and saw a billboard in Dallas for VGS and my husband told me to check into it if I was interested then I could do it. So here I am. I'm not telling anyone but my husband and it's all I can do not to let it spill...I want everyone to assume I finally found a modicum of self restraint.

I was given a Dr Pepper, my drug of choice, and the head ache went right away. I still feel a bit woozy but I survived so off to Dallas tomorrow and hello to the real me.

I had a ghastly time during mine- she had to up the chemical five times and they were cheering me on having me flap my arms and pump my legs to get my heart rate up so that I wouldn't need another higher dose.

If I ever need a stress test again I will wrap both my knees and suffer on a treadmill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
