I am right there with ya. I am on day 3 of liquids and am a little tired too. People at my office laugh because they can hear my stomach growling. I keep thinking of my surgery on the 29th and stick with the program.

Surprisingly enough my dr doesn't require any diets before surgery and they are a center for excellence. Things that make you go hummmm. But I am forever grateful.

Yes, my program also didn't require a pre-op (or post-op really) diet -- and that's worked out well for me, personally. Good luck to everyone on liquids right now, you can do it...and it's worth it.

I am on day 6 of the liquid diet. I do get hungry but I am just trying to embrace my hunger! LOL!! One thing that helped me was the week before liquids I got off all carbs and sugar. I was really tired that week but now I feel great! Just starving!! Surgery set for Apr. 5 in San Antonio.

try just eating the egg white.... the egg white only has 17 calories, but the yolk has 59... this way, you could eat 2 or 3 hard boiled egg whites, and get less calories than a single hard-boiled egg (76 calories) :)

Ask your docotr if you can have non starchy veggies at dinner time (like celery, lettuce, radish, mushroom with vinegar) Mine said that was okay. I have to do the liquid diet for FOURTEEN DAYS!!!!!! I know we will all get through this and it will be worth it in the end. !!!!

All the best,

Vanessa

My COE mandates us to do a 24 hr pre op liquid diet with 1-2 weeks of Atkins beforehand. Just a thought, have you tried the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury Protein? You can have the Protein chicken broth as well as the flavored protein (clear liquids) that will help you stay full and ward off those nasty hunger pains.

Good luck and congrats!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
