I love tortillas too but I still cannot eat anything like that. I had my sleeve 02/22/11 and I have tried and it makes me throw up and bread included so I am scared to try again too soon. I might wait a couple of months and then try again.

I am almost 4 months out and just had my first whole wheat tortilla with taco meat and cheese last week. I ate about 1/2 of it.

From about 2 months out I had a weight watchers or multigrain tortilla with refried Beans, cheese and Tomato slices and in the panini press to make it nice and soft. At first I would have just a quarter of it,, at around 4 months out I could have a whole one. Now(8 months out) I stay away f rom them as much as I can cause I like them too much!

I'm crying right now!! I LOVE tortillas and usually eat them all the time (i'm pre-op). I ran into someone who had the RNY and he's 2 years out and he said that he still cant eat them. They get stuck. OH, I'm so sad right now!!! LOL.....

Don't be sad. Have a tortilla funeral and say your goodbyes. I and just shy of 2 months (sleeved 3/7) and I stay away because of the carbs - whoa it's more than a day's worth in those. Any bread not toasted will or can get stuck. I use whole wheat crackers if I need something. You can do it I promise : )

Don't pack your tortilla's suitcase yet!! There are these incredible Carb Balance Tortillas by Mission, they are delish, and I do not get the stuck feeling with them. They only have 18 cabrs per tortilla, which trust me is more then what fits, I think 11 grams of Fiber, and 5 grams of protein!!! Trust me, they are a great alternative that is not actually an alternative.

I think those might be the same ones Eggface uses...I'll check it out. I'm dying to get far enough out that I can make an enchilada filling and then crisp up a low carb tortilla to use as my chip...yum!!!!

Well, I am going to be 8 week post-op on Wednesday, and I would say I have had tortillas for about....two weeks now, possibly three. I eat them soft, had not even thought of crunchy, guess I figured the softer it is the easier it is on my tummy.

That's so good to know! I am almost 8 months out, and I don't do well with regular tortillas. I normally stay away from them completely, but maybe these are better! Thanks for the sugguestion!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
