Road to "TWOterville"

Ok all you twosters or on your way to twostervilles, I need some help. I was banded on 8/24/07 and I've lost about 39 lbs. Not even sure about that. I started at 304 and am now about 265 but havent' weighed since February when I had my last fill. I have an appointment for next week for another fill. I have the large 10cc band and have 7cc's right now. I have almost enough restriction but I'm still doing the wrong things. I've been eating pretty much whatever I want unless it makes me sick and I started drinking beer again. I have no excuse and I know I'm messing up. I'm so sick of being fat. All of my friends say wow, you can really tell you've lost weight, but it has stalled so I'm sure what they're really saying is I knew it wouldn't work. I'm just disgusted by the whole thing. Maybe this isn't the right place to post this, but I want to hit that 200 mark really bad and you all are close or are already there. I just needed to vent this somewhere and landed on you guys. Congratulations on your progress. I just feel so different from all of you...I don't know why.

Elaine

((((((Elaine U)))))) :)

I'm so sorry to hear of your struggles right now. I don't really know what I can say to get you back on track, except that you just have to climb back up on the wagon. Here's my hand, I'll help you up!

Think of it this way, you couldn't have gained back too much, if any. That is what is so great about the band. You have to really try hard to gain that weight back. But you can, please remember that. You have come so far and have gone through so much to get where you are now, don't let that negativity back into your world. It will not end up good for you.

If you would like to talk one on one, PM me and we can talk.

Please remember to take care of yourself, you only have one life to live, so live it happy and healthy!! YOU DESERVE IT!!

Thank you! I'm better. I was just having a really bad day. I have an appointment next Thursday for a fill and have landed on the slow losers thread. I think that's the place for me! I am going to be a regular on the website...I joined right as I was having the surgery and then strayed. Strayed right back into a bunch of old bad habits! I'm going to be ok. I am strong and I will beat my battle with fat. Then I'll be all over the plastic surgery threads whining about not being able to afford that Tummy Tuck and I am SO looking forward to! A trip to Mexico is definitely in my future. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement!

LOVE!

I'm at 293, was banded Tuesday. So we shall see what happens. Still pretty sore, and have my hubby's cold, not so nice when I have to sneeze or cough.

Oh, gee! I feel for you having to sneeze and cough during the sore period. I had to cough some too, so I know what you mean.

Welcome to Twoderville, and best yet -- WELCOME TO BANDLAND!! Enjoy your stay, but we won't want to stay in Twoderville too long. It's more like an expressway to ONE-DERLAND!!

Thank you Little Miss. I the runs too right now, but from what I read that isn't so unusual. Who in their right mind would say having WLS is the easy way out?

The runs! Ack! Yes, very normal. I never could figure out why that was, but I was under the impression it was the fact we weren't allowed anything but liquids.< /p>

Liquids in... liquids out! :w00t::lol::tt2:

That's what I'm thinking too. Hoping it passes soon. Tomorrow we are having a reception for my mom. She remarried two weeks ago, and I so want to go!

I don't see why you couldn't go, but just go for as long as you can. I'm sure your family would understand if you had to cut it short, that is if they know of your surgery. If they don't you can blame it on your cold. :w00t:

Yes family and friends know about it. It's just now I'm running temp with this silly cold thing, and had a bout of diarreah while ago. Oh the joys!

Hoping tomorrow will be better.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
