Welcome Derbygirl!

Three pounds in a week is FABULOUS!! Keep it up Molly!

I'm thinking my Tax Day challenge is a bit steep too...I'm not sure it's possible to reach it. I will reach it eventually but I'm not going to get depressed if I don't hit it on time! I'm just gonna try like h*ll though!

Yeah, I've still got good restriction but it feels like things loosened up a bit today. I'm weird like that though...one day I'm fine the next I feel tighter.

well caffiene will affect your general hydration level so that could have an affect on your restriction level. Dehydrated usually equals tighter for me, but that's just me, lol. So that would mean if I had caffiene I wouldn't be as hungry, or in my case I'd probably be so tight I couldn't eat more than 2 bites, hehe. I like being tight though, it keeps me from wanting to graze. I just have to force myself to eat when I don't want to to get in enough protien. I am going to stop counting calories for a while and see what happens. I feel myself obsessing over calories and the scale again, still trying to find that mentally healthy place between obsession and total indulgence. Sigh one day :)

LapBandit, you could plateau right where you are through your bandiversary and still be ahead of the 2lbs per week maximum expectation, lol. But I know how it feels to want the scale to keep moving down at a quick pace.

yes absolutely...but just not as much really. i can still eat, can still overeat, but its not as out of control. i stop now! (yay!)

someone posted a simple way to tell if youre dehydrated by the color of your urine, and mines ALWAYS dark. im a walking beef Jerky.

im working on it though. right after the surgery i drank a lot of special k protien waters, and i stopped doing that too. i really like the lemon and find that if im sipping on one of those all day, im not walking around all long toothed and scary, and hopefully it will help that whole walking beef jerky thing too.

No I just record my food so that I can track my protien and make sure my caories aren't out of control. I however switched to sparkpeople. They make it easier to track your Water, ahem, hehe, jk, and they also have a recipe calculator so you no longer have to log a fraction of every ingredient! Here is the link http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/main.asp

That is the main resources page, you have to register same as fitday and it is also free! I used Fitday for most of this last year but switched to spark a couple of weeks ago once i discovered the recipe calculator I was sold.

Oh and btw it was me who talked about the color of urine as a determining factor in dehydration(unless there are others talking about it right now too, hehe). However B Vitamins are notorious for making your urine bright yellow, so if you are taking B's then that guide won't work for you.

As for an easy way for a non Water lover to get in their water is crystal light. This is what I do. I take an old 2 liter, carefully pour in the powder then fill partially with water, cap and shake well, then fill to close to the top. A 2 liter is 67oz and we need 64 per day and a crystal lite pot makes 64 oz, so it all works out perfect, You can take it with you wherever you go. I make a fresh one every morning and I have to finish it before bed. If I don't then the next day once my crystal light is gone then I have to drink plain water. This is what has helped me to get over my diet coke addiction. I like the taste of something sweet in my mouth and switching to crystal lite really has helped me tons.

Vitamin C turns your urine bright yellow. With the exception of Vitamins A,D,E, and K (fat soluble), all vitamins are Water soluble. This means that whatever your body does not need is excreted in the urine. I'm going to weigh-in tomorrow morning. I had some health issues and just got out of the hospital so today is going to be a rest day. Everyone is doing great and a big welcome to the new people.

Huh didn't know that about Vitamin C. I've nevre been one to take just Vitamin C before. I usde to take just a B complex and that turned mine very bright yellow, but only wiht that, most Multi Vitamins don't affect my urine at all. Only when I add B's, maybe I'm just wierd then, lol. Other than that I am ready to scream bloody murder at my husband. He had taken 3 dyas off to sit on his arse when rent is due at the end of this week and Phone and electric! He is self employed so if he doesn't go out we don't have money. And he still hasn't gone to the pharmacy and the only money we have at the moment is accessible only by him. I am PO'd I woke up today to find him playing a computer game, ARGH!!! HELLO hasn't he ever learned to be a grown up?

Hopefully, you're DH will be motivated tomorrow to go back to work. I'm stressing over my next tuition payment and getting back to work. Thankfully, I have sick days so that my paycheck won't be less because I have to stay out of work until next week. I had some shortness of breath and dizziness when I was leaving work Monday morning and spent 12 hours in the ER. Because I had pulmonary emboli (blood clots in the lungs) 13 months ago, I had to have a few tests... thankfully, they were negative.

Another week, still the same. Guess I'm at my first plateau but that's okay because I know it'll pass. My foot's still hurting from my surgery in October so I've used that as my excuse not to get back on the treadmill. I think it's time to get going though or I'll keep seeing the view from this plateau and I won't get off the mountain. I get my second fill next Tuesday and I hope that will help too. I haven't felt like I've had any restriction in a couple of weeks. Tonight is our monthly support group meeting and that helps me get motivated. A plastic surgeon is coming to speak. I won't need that for quite some time but it will be interesting to see what he has to say. I hope everyone has a good week! :peace:

Thank you all for the get well sentiments. I came down with the flu (yes, I did get the vaccine) on Wed and am just now starting to be able to hold down Water. I lost a ton of fluids from "both ends" so I am going to wait a day or two until I am rehydrated before posting a weight. I did get on it this AM but that value will go up once the dehydration is fixed. For now, all I want to do is sleep.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
