I had my band put in feb 2005. I lost 85 pounds and last december found out I was pregnant. I am writting to let everyone know that this pregnancy has been great.... I have not gained additional weight, which last time gained 75 pounds. This pregnancy I make better food choices most of the time. I have no complications and I have not had to take any Fluid out of my band. I see both of my docotors on a regular basis who monitor me probably more than a regular pregnancy. All iin all y band has been a great tool and I love it. I have 9 weeks left and know this was a great journey.

I'm in shock. That is just blowing my mind. You are pregnant and haven't gained weight. That is the coolest thing I've heard since cloning was successful.

Congratulations mothers-to-be. That's truly inspiring to me. (though I am done with child bearing). You guys are doing so great!

Congrats Heather. It's so nice to hear from a preg. bandster. I'm happy to hear that you are not having any issues. There have been a few threads lately asking about pregnancy and the band. I really feel that there should be a sticky on that topic. It comes up so often.

Any how. good luck, I hope this summer hasn't been too uncomfortable for you.

Great to hear all we wonderful with your pregnancy. I was banded two months ago. I am definately not ready to be pregnant but think we might be in a year or so. My Dr. said to wait at least a year & a half for everything to be secure in there, so my port does not move. Did your Dr. give you any advice on getting pregnant, did you have to wait? Thanks for the advice! Hope all continues to go well for you & your family! Let us know what you have & what you name him or her! All the best...Cookgal

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I weigh 223. I have lost 60 lbs. in 8 months. I found out that I was pregnant the same day I was getting a fill. I had 7.8cc. in my band and they went down to 3cc. I have been watching what I eat for the past two weeks because I don't have restriction and I want my baby to get healthy nutrients. I also don't want to gain a ton of weight because I am already 223.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
