I've been on my liquid pre-op diet since Monday and I seriously just asked my husband if maybe "wine" could be considered one of my liquids. It's our 15 yr anniversary Monday (yes my surgery date) and I just feel like we should at least have a glass (or two) of wine together.

I have to give my hubby a shout-out... 15 yrs ago I weighed 119 lbs (i'm 5'5") and over the years and 2 kids later I've ballooned up to 215 (age 47) and I truly feel he loves me every bit as much (if not more) than he did the day we said "I Do".

Technically, no. But, you could always call your doc and ask.

I think the anti-coagulant effect of alcohol is a big concern as well since they'll be loading you up with heparin or lovenox to prevent DVT, and other clots.

Just sucks that my 15 yr anniversary falls on the same day as my surgery... but what a hell of a anniversary gift.

Girl, don't you dare, lol! If I'm on the pre-op diet, you are too! Happy Anniversary though! You can each have a protein shake in a wine glass and change it up a little, hehe!
