Day 9.... big mistake, for me, adding Protein to my serving of cream of wheat! ....trying a new food AND adding protein did not sit well.... Did not throw up, butter did upset my stomach...

So, rest of day i ate: sugar free pudding (snack), Protein Shake for lunch, then had devil chicken breast for dinner.... Yum! ... evening snack: unsweetened applesause .... nausea did not return.....

I wish all you mothers out there a "Happy Mothers Day" on Sunday.... Enjoy your children, your grandchildren and be proud of the road you are on... We are headed in the right direction to a healthier and happier life!

healing hugs to us all,

sandy/tjmom

Sorry to hear that you had a rough day. I will keep that I mind not to mix together. Have a super Mother's Day. Keep up the good job. I try to look ahead not behind. I think there is something good in every day. Especially when I run late for work lol. I know the day has to get better. Enjoy Sunday Sandy.

Should get my insurance approval by this next Thursday. Then they will schedule my surgery. Think I might start my Liquid Protein diet on Monday, maybe that will speed up surgery schedule date

I'm 55 and nearly 4 months post op. I'm down 75 pounds today and three sizes of clothes. I'm almost ready for another new belt. The current one is on it's last notch (may have to punch another hole in it first). The skin is not sagging anywhere and it appears to be gradually shrinking back into place.

Thanks for the update missileer. I hope I will be able to say the same for my skin when I am 4 months out.

It's good to see so many people in their 50's join this thread.I'm happy that so many people are getting sleeved now.

I can't believe I celebrated my 3rd surgiversary already. I really can't believe I will be 60 this October. The sleeve has made me feel so much younger because I am so much more active now.

I guess I'll have to join the 60's thread in 6 months

Thank you kat1.... yes there is something good in everyday....

Day 11....(Mothers Day and my husband birthday)...

don't worry everyone i am sure i am going to stop "daily" posting some time soon, its just right now everyday is filled with newness...

brunch with friends.... First time at an "eating" gathering....they knew about my sleeve so it was adorable....she had it set up buffet style and every entree had a 1/4 cup portion already puree'd .... tears of friendship rolled down my face. My husband was pushing my wheelchair while i was deciding on food....i took puree chicken... Then the host removed all the puree'd portions and made me a to-go bag.....i am truly blessed....

So, i will close for now, hope everyone had a great Mothers Day. I know i had one i will never forget...

That was so sweet of your friend to do that for you! I remember so well what it was like

to socialize and worry about how it's going to be, eating with friends.

I am glad it went so well!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!

Wow Kat! What an awesome friend!!! So that's another plus on the board of WHO SHOULD I TELL??? Seems to me that most people are divided on that front (me being on the side of not telling). But your story sure supports the side that does tell. My first dinner party was a total disaster; the hostess went to so much work and I couldn't eat anything......I still feel so bad about that.

Keep posting; we're all interested and excited for you.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
