Sarahjane79 how are u doing since your surgery? Any tips u can give to a girl that's only a week away and starting to freak out a bit?

Is Dr. Gluck doing your surgery? My only advice is to sip. Sip sip sip. I'm 8 weeks out, and I still struggle with getting my 64 oz of Fluid in. I do fine with Protein. Although it was hard to get that in until I got to soft foods!

You'll be fine! They are awesome at mercy. The only pain I'd ever really had was just the gas pain. And even then, it was just uncomfortable. But yeah. Just walk. and walk some more. :) feel free to ask me ANYTHING. I'm an open and book and will answer anything you want to know. :)

Ps. I'm an doing great. I've lost 55 lbs now. I still do have some pain in my lower left where the biggest incision was. But at a week out, I was putting on my boots, and ripped my healing muscles back apart. Yes. It hurt as bad as you might think Hah. But it's something I can live with, except sleeping. I had to call the doc and they prescribed me some lidocaine Patches. I did sleep on my couch for 4 weeks after. But But I started walking and couple weeks ago, and am going to join join a gym this week. But I've yet to eat something from my list of allowed foods that hasn't agreed with me. Honestly is been really good, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to do this. :)

Yes Dr.Gluck is doing my surgery. I am now 6 days away from surgery. Thanks Sarah and Carol for sharing your experiences with Dr.Gluck. I am so excited but can't believe it's almost here. I am dropping weight like crazy on this liquid diet. I've lost 13 lbs. in a week! For a split second I asked myself if I can lose weight like this do I need the surgery? Then reality set in that I would never be able to do this if surgery wasn't making me do this liquid diet. I do have a pretty strenuous job though so I'm wondering how long I will be off of work? I've heard a lot of mixed answers regarding that. Thanks for everything!

2 days post op! And I'm feeling alright. The gas was the biggest issue with me. But I'm hangin in there. I had a 2 hour drive home that wasn't the most comfortable yesterday either. Can't wait to recover and start to get some results. The only thing I'm afraid of is drinking Water and Protein Shakes. I don't want to overdo it but I don't want to get dehydrated. Any tips?

Dr Gluck is awesome!!! I had my sleeve done the day before Sarah! :-) My husband has been a patient of Dr. Gluck's for the last 8 1/2 years. Dr Gluck will take you off work 4-6 weeks if you have a strenuous job. I've heard of corrections officers going back in 2-3 weeks IF they can guarantee they won't have inmate contact.

make sure you sip! I has to set a timer on my phone to remember to drink! I tracked. Water, shakes, and walking!! It really helped me. Then I switched to myfitnesspal.com and tracked there for over a year. Mi stopped and have now restarted tracking!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
