In all honesty, I would lay off a little. I understand your excitement but even if you get confirmation today instead of tomorrow, it doesn't mean that you will have surgery a day earlier.

And if I was your case worker, that kind of behavior would possibly make me work slower. It's not like they are dealing with people needing transplants, people with heart failure, newborn babies with health complications, people with cancer etc. - oh wait, THEY ARE! It's not like they are cops sitting around the station eating donuts all day long --- just kidding.

Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents -- relax, it'll come and you have a lot of time left for anxiety, LOL

I completely understand where you are coming from though.....My information was submitted to my insurance company on Jan. 25th so I called yesterday just to make sure they had received it and the ball was rolling, but I feel like I want to call back everyday just to make sure things are moving along. That would be my little control freak coming out in me though ;) I have decided I will call once a week on Monday to get updated no more or no less then that (cross my fingers) :D but yeah I think we both need to RELAX or we will drive ourselves batty!!!

Good luck to you!

Now that I know they have my info and it's sitting on someone's desk....I will refrain from calling for at least 48hrs!

Thanks for listening to my crazy!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
