I was very lucky and had no issues. I highly recommend right out of recovery' date=' put a heating pad on your back for a few hours then switch to your front side. It helped so much with gas!!! Today is day 4 & I still have NOT had to break out my Gas-X strips yet!!! Good luck![/quote']

Awesome! I am so glad to hear you are doing well! Thanks for that advice. How much have you lost so far?

I am doing great! Thanks! For the 2 week pre-op diet, I lost a total of 13lbs.!!! I was shocked cuz the first week was only 3lbs. When I checked in Monday morning and stepped on the scale and I was down to 273!!! I won't weigh in again until July 11th. That's my 2 week check up.

If there are any July sleevers in here, there are ONLY TWO main things you need to take to the hospital with you...... Your cell phone......AND some CHAPSTICK!!!!! Omg!!! And you will reach for the Chapstick before you reach for your phone!!! My aunt had to bring me some, It felt like HEAVEN gliding across my lips.... Just a lil FYI

Yes baby, yes! Lol I don't care for chapstick, I'm into nivea, but I totally agree...you are definitely going to want to slap something on your lips.

Chapstick makes my lips itch terribly. So I have to go with the old school vaseline jar or be the flyest wls patient to ever hit the bed with my red ri ri woo lipstick. LOL!

Well, I was sleeved on Friday the 28th... What a roller coaster ride that was! First, there was an emergency which pushed back all my surgeon's appointments. Then, because I have such small veins & was slightly dehydrated from the wait, I became a pin cushion! 5 different nurses, & 13 sticks later, they had an IV inserted. So from that episode caused someone else to be put in front of me. More waiting... Doc said surgery went well, no complications. Recovery on the other hand SUCKS! No pump for pain meds for me.. I had to ask for pain meds when I wanted them which, my nurses were pretty good on getting them to me w/o a major delay. The leak test ended with me painfully puking while trying not to fall off the machine. Smh I slept most of the time. I walked around with a mask on my face because the smell of my urine made me nauseous. Foods, visitors, doctors, & nurses' smells made me gag it was horrible! The day after surgery they gave me 2oz of diluted grape juice to drink before I could be discharged. Took me 3 & 1/2 hrs to drink it.. ugh it was so sweet. So, I got down as much of that as I could & was released Saturday at 4:30pm. When I got home I couldn't keep anything down! Kept gagging & throwing up & around 10:30 was readmitted in the hospital. 6 nurses, 2 doctors, and an ultrasound machine to find veins & they found nothing.... my arms have so many holes its ridiculous! My nurse was also sleeved & encouraged me to walk. Her advice really helped me in just understanding that I will get through this. I mean, this forum is very helpful, don't get me wrong, but actually seeing someone who had been through what I'm currently going through gave me hope. Anyways, I was discharged @ 7am Sunday morning. I missed church :( but my church Fam came over to see about me.. I slept most of the day. Since I've been home I've taken 2 pain pills. Today has definitely been much better. Freeze pops, ice chips, & (homemade) Jello have been my best friends! Store bought jello seems a little too rough for my stomach. It also helps to have family, friends, a great support system to help during your recovery. I sure hope it continues to get better from here.

Sorry to hear your rough start to your surgery and glad to hear your feeling better. Every day will get better for you. Its also great that you have the support at home because after a surgery like this you definitely need it. Right now its rough but believe me it will get better. The hard part for me is learning to eat slow. Get rest when you can and also try to keep moving it will help in the recovery process. Congrats to you on your new journey.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
