African American Sleevers

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone ..I'm in Cleveland and just completed my 3 month diet and all preop testing. I see the surgeon on 6/27 and then my paperwork will be sent to Medical Mutual for approval. I am really hoping to be sleeved by the end of July. I am worried about Hair loss as well. I also have MS so I am a little concerned about how my body will adjust after surgery. I have been reading on this site and it has really given me some good insight. I just wanted to thank you all for sharing your journeys. If anyone lives close inbox my I would love to have a buddy that shares this experience.

Welcome and congrats on your surgery! A day to day pound fluctuation is completely normal. I am one that weighs daily but recognize that lots of things come in to play. My NUT told me that I'wereaa urine my pee and poop by weighing daily. LOL! Also, expect some stalls so you won't completely freak out when they happen. I stalled for 3 1/2 weeks in my second month and thought I would lose my mind! But now in my fifth month I'm down 82 lbs! Good luck to you!

Mzpecanbrown congrats on ur loss. U post was hiliarious. I weigh daily also. I think may be in a stall right now. I keep going up or down by a pound. I am three weeks out. The scale really hasn't moved all week. It is a little frustrating but I am reading that it is normal at this point.

Vsg chichi I guess that is up to you. You will have to take off all your clothes the day of surgery. During my surgery I was given a catheter. I don't remember it going in or them taking it out. ( Thank GOD)

I meant to say measuring my pee and poop by weighing daily. I don't know what my phone did to that sentence.

Pinky, I lost big during my first month but REALLY slowed in months 2-3. But in months 4 and 5, I've done great! Just goes to show how this ride can be.

As for shaving, not me. I didn't see a need, even with needing a catheter. I never have with any surgery I've had.

I understood your post, my phone does the same thing. I am glad u posted about your loss. It helps to see u have been successful. I am trying not to have any expectations just take it a day at a time. That is easier said then done. I am just grateful that i have been blessed, no complications and I feel really good.

I am glad to hear you are doing well. I left the hospital on Saturday. I woke up from surgery with a pain level of 2. I was extremely blessed.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
