i was sleeved at 22 now 23 im almost 3 months out and my current weight is 174 started at 225 , and last but not least, my goal weight is 150 , i guess the hardest part is being around friends and watching them chomp on food like theres no tommrow , but then you soon relize that over eating was the reason that never allowed me to loose weight, im happy and its defiently a journey , that even my bro sister in law and also my father have joined.

Ive been such a fan of Dr. Aceves work and am trully amazed at the level of care they offer there patients, that ive decided to work with them as a patient cordinator, anyone needing any help or questions concerning his team please let me know by emailing me directly at justalfe@gmail.com or 702-528-9322

Hi everyone,

I am Amy and I am 28 years old (soon to be 29 in June....ughhh!). Anyways, I am from the Kansas City area and am going to be having the sleeve as soon as insurance approves it. I am school counselor so I am hoping to be able to have it this summer before next school year begins. I am having the surgery so that when I have babies I will be a healthy mom and my children will be raised in a healthy home! I will be going to Dr.Price at St.Luke's.

I can't wait to get to know all of you better and support each other along the way. Congrats to everyone who has dropped such amazing amounts of weight already.... I hope I can soon join that club!

Hi all! I am 25 years old and am scheduled to be sleeved on July 12th. I have 2 young girls, ages 4 and 1. I have told only a few people I am close with about my decision to be sleeved, so I am hoping to talk with all of you for additional support. I cannot wait to be sleeved!!

Hi all! I'm Nikki, 25 in Jax, FL. I'm having banded plication on the 27th with Dr Cywes. It's a lot more like a sleeve than a band so i like to hang out on these boards. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Nikki, do you knw there is a Sleeve Plication forum also. There is a huge difference in the sleeve plication and the traditional sleeve. The weighloss and challenges are not the same. I too considered the plication first, but opted for the sleeve (love my sleeve). You are welcome in the space (of course) but I wanted you to be aware of the other site.

I definitely think it has made things easier for me. I have so much energy and now I work out everyday- before I wouldn't dare lol. I think you heal alot faster the younger you are.

I figured I might as well update here too. I surgery about 5 months ago, and overall I am happy with my weightloss. To date its about 65 pounds. The last few weeks (almost a month) I have stalled between 218-220. I keep telling myself that my body is just going to be one of those bodies that need a little more time. It was my goal to get to ONEderland within 6 months of my surgery. I don;t know if that will happen. I am actually, for the first time since surgery, on a "diet." I am hoping this jump starts my weightloss again and get me to ONEderland.

I can tell I am losing inches, but there is nothing like seeing that scale move. I haven't worked out as much due to another health related problem, so I know that is also apart of the problem. But I am still hopeful. My skin is not bad at all. The stretch markes are out and about, but I'm okay with that. My husband doesn't mind. I think my boobs are shrunk about all they will shrink (fingers crossed) and my hair is still thick and full.

Being in my 20a getting the surgery has me feeling optimistic about the rest of my life. I am a new mom and new wife waiting to embrace this new life. I thought that I would be a quicker loser because of my weight, but as we see this is not the case. Though I am happy to report I lost 2 pounds yesterday! I am glad I don;thave to look back over my ife and question why didn't I do anything sooner.

Wish me luck on my ONEderland goal 26. is my 6 month mark. 18 pounds to go.

Well that's about it. Any questions, let me know.

I really enjoy reading this forum. I am so happy to have so many great people talking about their journeys!

@jcollins510: Congrats!

I am really starting to get excited/impatient. Only 1 month until I submit to insurance, and two until I have surgery!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
