Anyone else have a runny nose when full?

Recommended Posts

I've experienced the same nose running issue when eating, I always carry a tissue in my pocket now. What a strange thing!

Do any of you sleeve buddies get a runny nose when you eat and get full or nearly get full? Every time I sit down to eat I have to have plenty of napkins handy. After eating about 2-3 oz. my nose begins to run. I do not have allergies and have no cold right now. I just started noticing this about a month ago when I started on more solid foods. I have watched this and realize that it is not just coincidental. It happens every meal that I take in 3-4 oz. of solid food.

Let me hear from you if you are the same. And--can anyone explain this? What does my nose have to do to with my sleeve?

My nose do the same thing I thought it was just me

Oh gosh....and I thought it was just me! My sleeve was almost a year ago....and just tonight I googled "gastric sleeve runny nose" and this came up. I'm glad I'm not alone. Did the same thing regarding the "hicup" issue. Glad I'm not alone there either.

Oh...and now I carry old lady handkerchiefs. :)

No runny noses, but I sneeze like I'm in a hayfield when I get full! It's quite funny, and beats nausea!

Okay - so this explains it all. My runny nose is when I'm full from liquids. A bit more gross for me is when I'm full, I actually have to spit up a lot of mucus. Very disgusting, but is a consistent sign that I'm full. I immediately stop - even if I've only taken a bite or two of whatever. Not sure where it comes from or why, but beats vomiting any day.

I have the same problem. I have allergies and thought that it was that. However I started to notice it was happening when I was eating. I carry tissues with me but I found a better solution. Walmart carries a product called boogie Wipes in their baby section. they are wipes that contain saline. They seem to help and they are gentle on the skin I hope this helps it has really helped me

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
