What are the symptoms of a leak?

So what are the symptoms of a leak? Last night I was eating about 3 ozs of roast beef and started on a small serving of squash when I started having pretty bad pain and the urge to throw up. It passed in about 10 minutes and I felt queasy for a while.

Today my stomach hurts a bit, like a mild stomach ache. I managed to down a Boost! for Breakfast and 1/2 can Soup for lunch. I suspect I DON'T have a leak but it started me wondering, what would I feel if I DID have one?

How far out from surgery are you? I'm about 3.5 months out and that much beef would definitely give me a sour stomach and some pain. I usually can't do more than 2 oz of beef or pork if I'm eating anything with it (can do more poultry or fish).

Anyway, as far as the original question with knowing how we would have a leak is a very good question. Anyone here who's had a leak: what were your symptoms?

Here is an exert from another post:

I am one of those who developed a leak "just because," although it was

probably surgeon's error as it was in my esophagus, away from the suture

line. We found mine 2 weeks 2 days post op, i felt great up until the

day I developed a 104 degree fever, and had EXTREME Pain in my left side

(worse than childbirth pain). I went to the ER twice - after the

second time, they did a CT scan and found the small leak. I developed

sepsis, my entire abdomen was infected and I had to have 3 more

surgeries to clean it out and fix things.
