Frustrated and TICKED Off!!! - Question about Scales

Recommended Posts

I personally went on strike against my scale and threw it out. I only weigh now at the MD's. I had to, because I was determining my success, outlook, how my day would go, EVERYTHING - on the number that device gave me. And I'm more complicated than just a number ;)

I had an expensive WW digital scale and could get variances of up to FIVE pounds within a few minutes!!! FIVE pounds! Needless to say, I threw that piece of junk away and now have 100% reliability with my $9.99 non-digital scale, which gives the exact same weight as the doctor's office, every time and no matter how many times I get on and off of it, always gives me the same reading. I will not buy a digital scale again and as I personally do not believe in their accuracy whatsoever and have only had accurate and consistent readings with non-digital scales.< /p>

I have a digital scale & found out that it weighs differently depending on where I stand on the scale. If my feet are close to the edge, I weigh less. If my whole foot is right smack in the middle, I weigh the most. I just make sure I have my feet in the exact same position every time & it comes out reading the same. Kinda dumb that it does this!!!

I weigh myself 3 times & take the smallest weight of them all. HA!

I have an absolutely gorgeous digital scale with a glass top (brand: Tanita), and it sucks big-time. Never ever the same weight twice in a row. So annoying. I lived without a scale for so many years, and then bought this beauty from Amazon to Celebrate my surgery. What a dud!

I have a tanita, it measures weight and body fat.....it is right on....the scale never waivers. I have a ladies fitness centre and just to test the accuracy I had 3 members bring in their digital scales and I took mine from home (same model)......only one members scale was out consistently after weighing 5 people.

Hey everyone: thanks for all your input/comments. It was nice to hear your shares/views.

FYI: I'm taking my scale back today and geting my $91 back! I'll stick with my analog scale for now.

I do only weigh once a week; but I do count on it to help me track my progress. And, yes I expect variances but even if I do everything right with the scale I don't think I should get THAT much variance...especially when the scale "guarantees" consistent accuracy up to .2 lbs!!!!

The money will be better off in my pocket than on a crap scale that doesn't do what it is supposed to!!!!

Tks again for input.

;)

Good! Enjoy the 90 bucks!

I voted for take it back..but was late in my post. I have the same $30 scale as pfunkem, and never have a variance problem...and I weigh all the time. Yup, I'm an addict. I step on before I go potty, and after...because I've had some digestive retention issues.

So, if you want a good accurate scale, try that Healthometer one pictured above. It can track 4 different weights, BMI's, and is really not bad looking.

Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
