Honey that's how you a** got so big!

Recommended Posts

Tonight I made smoked mesquite chicken breasts on the grill for the family, then as I am clearing the plates and preparing a lunch tupperware for him, he says honey that's so good but that's how you ass got so big eating this kind of stuff(grilled chicken). Do any of you smell the ignorance? My reply was:angry_smile.gif "Well... at least I know I can lose this ass being ugly is so much worse!" LOL He came up behind me and gave me a hug, sometimes I wonder what screw is missing but I am not the therapist I am the wife! I should really have corrected him because it was all the Cookies and cakes and whatever sugar cane derived element I could get my hands on. But my sleeve sisters....all that matters is that tomorrow I see the surgeon!!!!!biggrin.gifWHOHOOOOOOOOO I just thought I'd share something extra with you guys since you have given me so much support, over the weekend we went shopping for stuff for the kids in a mall where there is a GNC, my husband told me to go ahead and start looking he would be right there...then later on in the car I find rolled up in a plastic bag tightly you will not believe what ladies....FAT BURNER from GNC...interesting because my husband does not have a weight problem I asked him about it and why he was hiding it from me and he said he wants to have a six pack again. Like I said before I am not the therapist just the wife but I wonder if this surgery is starting to cause fear and insecurity. I just wanted to throw this out there in case you have a situation similar to mine or just wanted to get a kick out of mine.

car.gifCan't nobody hold me down oh nooooooo...I got to keep on moving!

Oh so funny! You almost made my staples pop out LOL! Yes, my husband sounds alot like yours. He frequently made remarks when I would eat and always talked about me walking too slow and needing to exercise. He couldn't believe it when i actually did this surgery! I think he is little nervous now because several times he has said that I better not leave him when I get skinny HAHA!

Get ready for the surgery, it is not the easy way out! I just had mine this past wednesday. I am on all liquids and it is very hard. Not trying to scare you, just trying to make sure you are prepared. I didn't really realize how tough it would be. It is also an emotional roller coaster. Get ready for the ride of your life! I'm just now going up the first hill. I'm hopeing going downhill will be much easier.

 too funny. I wish I were as quick witted :) Yeah, the husbands can be a piece of work -- my DH has made some interesting remarks that I choose to overlook because if I didn't I'd probably smack him -- and it is funny, my husband as a "renewed" interest in exercising . . . hmmmm. . . .

Gotta laugh......UGH!! Men, what is wrong with them sometimes? Sounds like something my husband would say. Apparently yours thinks he is a dietician too huh?? Of course they doesn't know anything. I will be cooking chicken Sausage on the grill (apparently he thinks it has the same nutrition as a Brat) and tells me I should be eating Cereal instead!!! Yeah, Frosted Flakes!! LOL! I guess the "whole grain" or whatever makes it a health food!!! UGH! My husband is a carb/sugar king!! I have no idea how he is not 400lbs!!

I have a feeling my husband is going to be insecure when I start losing weight. Of course you are going to be more happier and wanting to do more things in life besides hide in the house. I am thinking me being fat makes him feel safe, though I know he would rather have me thinner. I just better not get a ton of questioning when I want to go to the mall and buy new clothes. If I get accused of cheating or something stupid, I am going to flip out!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
