Sizzilng September Sleevers Monday Check In

Awesome Julie!!!! Congrats girlie, you are truly inspiring!! :D

Myself, I lost 1 Lb... not bad either, but I definitely know I can do much better. I know I might be eating too many calories, so I now have to start logging my intake. I really REALLY hate doing that!!! So, I'll get back on track quick.

I also need to get on that treadmill more!! I hate walking outside in winter, it's either way too cold or it's raining. I only did the treadmill 2x last week. That is NOT okay. I should be on it at LEAST 5x per week. I swear, I DO NOT lose unless I'm walking. I can do the elliptical, spinner, calisthenics, toning etc every day - but it won't come off faster unless I'm walking. Why? Who the heck knows!! What I DO know though is that is a fact.

I'm also coming up on the 2 weeks where I can lose big if I put my best face forward. That's me!! Christmas who? This girl is gonna Celebrate the Holiday for what it is, not for all the strings attached!!! ;)

You know, Irene, I figured that out too -- it kinda sucks because even though I enjoy the after-effects of exercising, I have to FORCE myself to go every time. sucks. But, I do know makes the pounds go away faster than sitting on my butt!

HOWEVER, it's good that you lost a pound!! HOORAY :D You're still on the losing track, my friend!

Yep, losing that pound really gave me a boost! It posted on Sunday, but wanted to wait until my Wednesday weigh in to record it. I've also noticed I'm stepping on the scale way too much! I know I stress more when I do that - and stress is not good for me when trying to lose.

So... off the scale I stay until my Sunday weigh in with my Wii, and my official Wednesday weigh day!

Hugs my friend!! :grouphug:

Wish I could truthfully report I did not touch my grandmothers homemade sugar Cookies made with Crisco. (yes it was good too) I will know the damage as I step on the scale tomorrow. My pants seem a little loose, but not enough to go down another size. Good news is another purge of the closet is due.

Happy with my sleeve and no regrets.

Cherice, as always - WAY TO GO!!!

Wish I could truthfully report I did not touch my grandmothers homemade sugar Cookies made with Crisco. (yes it was good too) I will know the damage as I step on the scale tomorrow. My pants seem a little loose, but not enough to go down another size. Good news is another purge of the closet is due.

Happy with my sleeve and no regrets.

ie, I think it's a normal human behavior. You know, its Christmas - and I'm sure any other day you are on target. So you had a cookie, no big deal. The big deal is where you go from there. Do you continue to eat the cookies every day, or do you move on from enjoying Christmas to getting back on track? Don't even worry about that!!

I also just did some purges in my closet. I'm fitting more and more clothes now in mine. It's just amazing!!! Once a month I go through all my clothes I couldn't quite fit last month, and even though I don't feel I've lost a whole lot lately my body seems to be shrinking a lot. I fit size 18 a bit large now, and 16's fit perfect. I'm starting to break into some of my 14's even. I've had a size 14 that I haven't fitted in for over 20 years!!!! I can now get them over my hips and butt, but I still can't quite button them so I'm getting there!!!

It's just awesome!!!

Hey guys -- it was a good Christmas for me -- we had 21 people at our house blink.gif -- it was a potluck dinner, so I did allow myself small bites of whatever I wanted. But, I couldn't finish hardly anything -- after getting the Protein in, that was about it. oh well -- couple of bites of pie and that's it. sigh. But I did go down .6 lbs -- not a whole bunch but something --

I have to admit my eating was off (not in a bad way) but when I was preparing for the dinner, etc., I just forgot to eat, so I know my body is holding onto Water (can see it in my ankles) -- so I've upped my water intake and am eating better. It's hard to remember to eat when you're not hungry!!

Onward and downward!!! Right??? :) Have a great day everyone!

Howdy September Sleevers!!! Another week... another check in!!

I wonder where everyone is? It would be nice to see more posting here. Even if you can only post certain NSV's or just anything - all of it is GOOD and worthy of note!!

Hey Julia, no big deal. I only lost one single pound this last week as well. Boy I've been really REALLY on point these last few days and was hoping and hoping for at least another to show up, but nooo... LOL It's ok - I'm 100% back on track now after the Holidays which I won't lie, I'm very glad to FINALLY be past them. I really need to make sure I hit goal before next September rolls around!!! It's always been so hard for me to be good and lose weight, much less maintain during this time of year.

So that was me, I lost one pound, which is great!!! But the super good news is I'm back on track and feeling VERY determined. I had some awesome NSV's over this weekend so that one pound loss was added to other things. I'm just *this* close to fitting a pair of pants I haven't fitted in since I was a teenager! WOW!!! I just LOVE MY SLEEEEEVEEEE!!!!!!!!

Until next week SS'ers!!!

You said it! I'm so damn happy for this sleeve I can't even begin to say how much -- just think, last year I would have gained 10 pounds, no kidding! And I continue to lose (even if it's just under a pound!) -- couldn't ask for more.

And, like you, I'm back on track -- Protein first, tons of Water, and exercise!! :) Very happy -- and the best thing is, is that the negative self-talk didn't come into play :)

Thank you SLEEVE!!!

Labrys here...

Away from the scale and out of town so I don't really know anything on the weight loss stat. You folks are such an inspiration to me. This old bird is soooo happy with the weight loss thus far, can't wait to see how all this turns out. My family, who have not seen me in a while were really impressed. I just want to get on with it. I'm wearing clothes from the Goodwill now, as I know they are just stop gap clothes on my way down. I'll check in with some stats when I return home on Jan 5. I have shared some of the holiday fare so we'll see if there is a weight loss or now.

For now, just know that the support you all offer is most appreciated and helps keep me focused. I am sooo happy to have found this site and can share my journey with you. Blessed Be.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am so excited for what this year will bring. I know we will all reach our goal weight (whatever that may be). I am thankful that I have you ladies here to Celebrate my small successes with and so proud of us. It feels so odd to actually make it through the holidays and not be groaning at the scale  My big excitement this week was becoming overweight lol My BMI is now under 30, which is so amazing to me. I never thought I would be so exceted to be overweight. Now I am dream of being "normal."

Here are my stats:

Hey all! Labrys good to hear that you're feeling great! :)

Cherice Whoo whoo!! Great job :) Isn't it a great feeling knowing those pounds are gone forever???

I had a good week myself -- lost 5 pounds :) very happy -- we went on a mini trip around Paraguay, into Brazil and Argentina (they all connect at one point which made it easier than it sounds!) -- but since this area of the world is big into meat, I had no problem staying on my diet

So onward and downward!!

Labrys here... finally

Hooray for me! I reached my Jan 1 goal. I pretty much out of my clothes. I got a donation from a friend though. I've been working on rehabbing my house; getting it ready for sale. I also just returned from Mississippi and holiday visit with the family. We just love getting together. Anywhooo

I need to set my Valentine's day goal.

Sorry for the absenteeism, but I'm back in town and have access again to the ole puter.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
