I am 7 days post op and woke up this morning with a bloody nose. I never get them so I am concerned. Any thoughts?

Make sure that you are getting your fluids in and not dehydrated. If you are dehydrated that may be a cause. Thats the only thing I can think of.

I have been getting them in but yesterday was a rough day because we traveled home on the airplane form CA to WA so I was less on my fluids yesterday.

airplanes will dry you out. Try putting some moisture in you nose like a little vasaline.

blood thinner? Did you get a blood thinner during surgery? I was still shooting myself with shots of lovenox two days ago, I had to be on a blood thinner for 10 days post-op. It's to prevent blood clots. Maybe that had to do with it?

Yep, dry mucus membrane, and throw in the blood thinner and a bloody nose will happen. As long as your B/P has been fine, it's probably nothing. Call your doc if it keeps happening though. Otherwise, probably not a cause for concern.
