Question about letter of medical necessity

Hi guys! I was referred to my surgeon by a Physician's assistant. I need to get a letter of medical necessity, but does that have to be written by a Dr? Or is it OK that she is a PA? Thank you for your help!

It's up to your insurance company what they will and wont accept. Aetna allows the PA to write one. If yours denies it off the bat then call them and a lot of times you can sweet talk them into it.
