Calling all insured by United Health Care

Hello,

I have completed my six month visit with my PCP and I'm meeting with my nutrionist on July 21st. Would anyone happen to know how long it will take to get an approval from United Health Care? Also, Has anyone with United Health Care followed all the steps and was denied their surgery? The anticipation is killing me, it took me 4 years to decide to have a VSG and now I'm waiting to see if it will happen. :)

I am with you.. the waiting is horrible. My husband and I finished all of our testing and are now at the hurry up and wait phase.. :)

I had to wait a little over a week for my approval. I've heard of others getting it in a day or two. I think mine would have come faster if a paper had not been missing from the packet that was submitted to insurance.

From what I understand if you meet the BMI requirements, did your 6 months of appointments, and WLS is covered in your policy, you're pretty much going to get approved from UHC.

Good luck!
