Been a month out now! Need some suggestions and advice!

Just an update. I am on the mends but occassionally have a pain on the left side. I was a bit disappointed that my doctor couldn't give me a fill but he says that maybe the next visit in about 3 weeks. I am anxious to get the fill because most of what I can eat are still mushies and that's mostly carbs. I am getting hungry again and I just don't want to gain. I haven't lost anything since the surgery. Is this normal? Just maintaining my weight, going up a pound and down a pound.

Also having a real problem with finding things I can munch on while on the road driving. Anyone have any good suggestions? I'm still on soft diet. I'm on the road a lot so I get so hungry by the time I get home and I know I do better as I eat little meals throughout the day.

Any suggestions people?

Try getting in some mushies that are protein. Try chicken salad, soft fish, cheese, yogurt. Step away from the carbs. At least for me, I don't loose weight if I eat too many carbs. And if I eat something carby early in the day I"m carbing all day long. Just work on the protein thing. And don't sweat it too much, you are still healing, even your doc just said so. The band doesn't work the way it's intended until you have restriction. Everything before is just bonus...or in my case, stressingly hard.

Thanks for your feedbacks. I will refer to the list. It also helps to know things are what is to be expected.

They are so correct....try everything you can to stay away from carbs..you want stay full long at all and that will just cause the grazing. A fill shouldn't be done until you are at lease 6 weeks out. So hang in there. Get some yogurt and add some unflavored protien...you will be suprised how long that keeps you full.

Hang in there...
