but I am or I could eat some real food in a small quantity

Exactly! You got it.

Yes, your band loosens a bit as you lose weight. We have lots of fat stored up on the insides around our organs and as we lose weight, all that loosens up in there and we lose restriction. Then it's time for the next fill. Everybody is different though. Some need lots of fills, some need none or very few. You have to be a good listener to your body.

If your band ever "loosens up on it's own" it's usually because it was swollen for some reason (a PB or reflux or just irritated) and the swelling went down, or it's no longer "that time of the month" (some women get tighter with bloating and PMS symptoms) and sometimes you just never know why. Barometric pressure? Storm's a-comin'? Like the "bursitis in the shoulder" my great-grandmother had that always told her it was gonna rain? The band can be fickle. Just pay attention.

Yes, you got great advice. Call the doctor and tell him exactly what is happening. He will probably have the best advice for you.

For me, my band loosens after 30-40 pounds loss. Try to stay away from crackers. Until you get the unfill (if you get it), try eating things like cottage cheese, refried Beans (lowfat) or chili, etc. They are softer foods, but they are good Protein.< /p>

I have a decent restriction right now, not tight at all. But in the mornings, it is pretty tight. So I always have my Protein Shakes.< /p>

And make sure you keep track of your calories in fitday.com. Your body did well before your fill, so I would shoot for those calories each day.

Good luck!! This is the tricky part of the band... You are doing very well.

hey carla,

my weight loss pattern did the same thing. but then all of the sudden, the scales started moving. i was doing everything the same...and for all that time(well over a month..about two months) there was NOTHING...no weight loss at all...then i got up one morning and my scales were less 3 lbs. i couldnt believe it, so i doubted it until the next morning when it said the same 3 lbs was gone in addition to a half pound. who knows why the body does that, but it does. Hang in there and keep your spirits up, i CERTAINLY understand the frustration.

You know, just to add my two cents. Instead of the chocolate milk, try carnation instand Breakfast. It will give you more nutrients, Protein, etc which will be helpful because you are eating so little. I also put in a tablespoon of dry milk powder for extra protein and a squirt of chocolate sauce to make it more chocolatey!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
