So excited for you! Did you remember to get your gas X strips and heating pad? As I've read they can be lifesavers while your shacked up in the hospital. I have to be there at 7AM, surgery at 9. So as I'm starting to get up and get rollin the hallways, you'll probably be heading back to the OR. I will be thinking about you and hope all goes well for all of us tomorrow, and for the lady having hers on the 20th as well. I'll try to add you all as my "friends" so we can keep eachother motivated and give updates! :thumbup1:

Here's my little update:

Well its official, I'm sleeved and o so relieved... to be home! :) I had my surgery yesterday morning, was up and rolling the halls around 1:00, but I had horrible gas pains just as many of you had also experienced. Of course I did take my heating pad and gas x strips, just to be told I could not use either while in the hospital, blah. I'm curled up in my recliner tho making great use of the heating pad now! I was up doing my laps in the hallways throughout the night and it definetely did help. I rated my pain a 7/10 at highest immediately following surgery, but was given dilatid (sp) pretty much on the hour which really helped keep it at bay. Then late last night they started liquid lortab which is what I was released on to take home, while it has helped thus far, I am fable to feel more pain at the incision sites and within the muscles, like I took a drop kick to the belly! Since surgery i've been sipping lots of Water and wylers broillon broth, beef and chicken, and just had a popsicle. I am experiencing a lot of gurgling which I guess is normal as the swelling is still present. As I was being discharged they weighed me before walking out the door, and I was 4 pounds up because of all the anestesia they pumped into me. I was relieved with that however, the nurse said often it is alot more than that, as as I continue to drink and pee drink and pee I should see that fall right off, and more! :) Thanks for your well wishes to us all. My surgery was thankfully a smooth procedure and thankful to be feeling how I am today. Ladies, please post your updates also when you feel up to it. I'll look forward to hearing all about it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
