Quick question Cloe,

Did you have 3 Optifast shakes per day...or 4?

The package says 4 per day....but I was under the impression it was 3.

I'm going to double check with Marie, but I'm really curious right now. LOL

Gotta psyche myself up for this...I have 15 days left to eat, before evrything changes forever.

Sunshine

Yoda. I'll be in TO for 1 week total...with hubby. (Best friend backed out):cry

Hopin to see Niagara...and stuff.

Hello All!

I'll be 42 next Friday and will be married 17 years as of the beginning of July. I have two wonderful kids ... a girl 15 (going on 25) and a boy 13 who still loves to give his mom hugs. I was raised in Toronto (Scarborough area and my parents still live in the same house) but moved out to Calgary by myself in 1985 where I met my husband a year later. We go back to Toronto every summer to experience the cottage country life that does not exist in Calgary (along with the hot, humid weather which I love!!).

So far, I have adjusted to the band with no problems. Even though I'm now three weeks post op, I definitely have restriction and have experienced the 'golf ball' feeling twice when I've eaten too much. Not a good feeling as you don't know if it's coming up or going down .. so far down only for me ... phew!

Sunshine! If I had some money, I would sooo get you to hook my up with a chihuahua puppy! They're soooooo cute!

Anyways, onto me. I'm 25, and currently living in a small town in Saskatchewan. I've been with my boyfriend (whom I met online) for 3 years. He moved to NB about 5 months ago, for a job. I've got a 99% for sure job there later this summer, so I will be joining him in NB. I'll be leaving June 18th (thats the plan anyways), and driving there, all by myself. It'll be at least a 4 day drive. So I'm kinda scared... but excited.

I went to school for 3D animation, got a job a few months after graduating working on a 2D/Flash hybrid, direct-to-video thingy... then did some freelance for a studio in Vancouver, then did some work on a stop-motion kids series they're making in S'toon, and now going to work on a kids Tv Flash series in NB. This is probably all animation jibberish that means nothin' to ya, but I felt the need to share.

I have no kids, and don't know if I want any! No time soon anyways.

I was banded Mar 29 of this year, and am at a 31lb loss so far (postponing the 30lbs Party, sorry :) ). It seems to going slow, (I'm sure nothing would be fast enough for me though) but I'm enjoying myself, whatever I'm doing anyways, so if it gets too annoying, I know what must be done!

Mandi

welcome ANEWLIFE!!!!

Aargon: your job/career sounds reallllly interesting! You'll like NB though it will be a change from SK. Think of the drive down as "Mandi's Excellent Adventure"!!! The longest part will be getting through our vast province of ON!!!! "when will this EVER end"??!!!!

BTW, I met my husband online too (a fluke) and we've been happily married for 5 yrs now and unbelievably, every day is better than the last!

:)

Yes... the trip through Ontario will be the longest, I think! My plan is to go from here, pass right through Manitoba, and stop at Kenora, the Kenora to Kapuskasing, Kapukasing to Montreal, then Montreal to Miramichi, NB. That's 'the plan'... it'll probably vary depending on how long I "really" can drive for. I think I'd have no problem doing a 11-12 hour drive, but, LOL.. we'll see!

I'll have to make sure I bring my camera along for my Excellent Adventure! Hopefully I'll be smart and take pics along the way to remember it!

Cloe, I'm not as talented as I may sound! lol But I like to think so :D

I do miss him. It's hard to be apart for so long.

Yoda, it'll serve me right for picking a dumb name like that! It used to be 'argonsoleil' ! That was even worse! And how cool that your met your hubby online too... it's amazing how normal it is now. Back in the 'old days', it was embarassing to tell people you were meeting someone 'from online' !

I didn't make it to the chat. Sorry... totally slipped my mind. I shall try again next week!

Well…about me then!

Booked to be banded June 15th by Dr. Mumford.

I’m 39, mother of two girls and separated 2 years. I was with my ex for 23 years in total and still consider him a very good man. I live in the country just outside of Orangeville Ontario and work as a realtor.

I grew up in Scarborough, lived 9 years in Vancouver before returning for family. I have always been overweight and the highest I have been (non-baby) is 237 pounds. Through diet and exercise (gym rat) I was able to lose 40 but for two years I can’t lose anymore and can see the pounds finding their way back, 10 so far so back to 30. I want to get to 120…a weight I don’t think I have seen since I was 13!

I have been blogging my struggles on yahoo for a year http://360.yahoo.com/betty_boop_incanada and will be continuing until I reach my goal weight.

Looking to be more than just a pretty face with a great personality!

Hi Cloe,

I have not seen any other people on here that Dr. Mumford has done. I know he has only been doing since the early part of the year but his experience in lapriscopic surgery is very impressive, my fingers are crossed.

I have been on the Opti-fast since June 1st and it’s not bad at all but have had two very difficult days were I did cheat and ate a bit here and there…..grrrr. As a single mom, I find it hard to cook for the girls and not nibble if I have not had the Optifast prior.

We went to Wonderland yesterday and could not resist having a bit of there hot dog and a handful of chocolate almonds as we were leaving. I guess if I were able to committee 100% I would not be here….lol

My date is this Thursday and excited but very nervous. My only concern is being nauseous or getting sick….I have not been sick since grade 3 and plan on keeping it that way.

Your numbers are looking good, you must be very happy. Who was your surgeon? How are you doing? Any complications?

Hey Betty Boop. You must be getting excited!

Don't worry about getting sick or being nauseous; I had the same concerns but they use really strong anti-nausea drugs, so I'm sure you'll be fine. For the next few days afterwards (just to be on the safe side because I really did not want to get sick) I took liquid gravol.

Hey...I only live about 45 mins from Wonderland!

Good luck this week!

there is someone on here who went to Dr. Mumford, for the life of me I cant remember who. I'll go back to see if I can find her. You won't get nausous, just put some quick dissolve gravol in your purse for after if your worried, they work fast! It's normal to be nervous, but don't, it isnt that bad, especially if you've had any kind of surgery at all before.:)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
