Boy, I had a great day. My surgeon's visit yesterday went well. He took a look at my CT scans and BW from my ER visit, and said I'd survive it all. I had the weirdest experience yesterday morning before my visit. I was soaking in a nice deep tub, and had my arms above my head...While I was breathing in and out I felt these little pops and bubbles (only way to describe it) coming from inside my chest. I have a feeling that all that respiratory distress was trapped air from the CO2. Since then I've been feeling much better. Today I finally felt like I was getting back to normal.

Hi Clock,

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling better. Getting rid of the trapped air helped me the most too.

Take care all,

Pennie

Well, it is done, my surgery was Monday and it is Friday. I got home Wednesday but felt pretty crappy. I am still very sore, although all in all I feel "better". I am a little jealous reading about people's speedy recoveries and I feel mine is on the slower side but I guess we are all different. He also ended up fixed my hiatial hernia which he originally told me he was leaving alone because it was small but said it was more "moderate to large" when looking at it.

I am eat but it seems like everytime I put something in, it gurgles aroud my stomach (making LOUD noises) and then I have to go to the bathroom. Is this normal? and if it is how long does this usually last? Maybe I am being impatient and expecting too much to fast. I was able to get a little Protein in, broth, half a container of sugar free Jello, and some (about 16 oz) Water in today but I can't say it was easy.

I am hoping everyone else sleeved this week is doing well. I have been thinking of you all. When I came home I wasn't up to logging on and yesterday my computer was down.

Please let me know how you are doing...

How are you feeling now?

Hi Mini-me thanks for asking how I am doing...... pretty well!

I went for my check up today (10 days since surgery). I am down 17 pounds total including the diet before surgery (I lost 10 then) so that seems pretty good.

I got the drain out today thank god, it was making me crazy. Felt really weird coming out. I am tired still, can't seem to get my strength back yet but that will come. My incision on the right side is really bothering me but he said that is where they did most of the work. I am curious about Boughie size. I asked him today (a little late to be asking I know) what size he used and he said 40. Does anyone know if that is average or too large? I haven't heard anyone say they had that size.

I am supposed to go back to work on Monday so I am hoping I am feeling more perky by then.

I guess I am a work in progress, have to take it one day at a time and not get overwhelmed.

Take Care!

Diane

I had a 36. 40 isn't that much bigger to make a difference.

Glad to hear that you are progressing well.

Diane, I have a 40 as well. We're going to prove that there's no difference in weight loss between a 32 and a 40!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
