Hey Guys! I have finally committed to getting the sleeve this Tuesday. My doctor told me he could do it on that day, but I'm been trying to see if I could make up my mind to do it. But I AM going to do it! Not sure what time. I think in the morning.

I'm a little bit nervous because I have not did any kind of pre-op diet. My doctor told me not too worry about it because I'm not extremely overweight... I have over 100 lbs. to lose, to me that's alot...

What do you guys think?

I wonder what time I will have to stop eating or drinking tomorrow?

Maybe some of you that have just had your surgery around the same time we can keep more in touch and see how we are doing?

I love having found this site and having people that can help me along the way!

Also I enjoy reading about you guys that have already been where we've been and we can learn from your experiences.

Charity that is wonderful news. Put yourself in God's hands and know that this is His will for you in your life - it all came together so easy it has to be. You shoudl stop eating/drinking 12 hours before your surgery -- you can take any necessary medication in the morning with only enough Water to get them down.

You'll do GREAT - keep us posted - we'll be watching to hear from you!

Congrats!!

You must be so excited. Don't forget to put your surgery on the calendar, and check out the Oct. sleeve group for the others also having surgery this month.

It is wonderful that you can have it done so quickly, and soon you will be one of the "losers"!!

Take care and let us know how you are getting along.

Nancy

Thank you guys for your prayers! I went into surgery on Tuesday and came home yesterday afternoon. I'm on my way to recovery. I can't say that I haven't wondered if I did the right thing since the surgery, but I guess that's normal.

This is day 4 and I'm not feeling too bad. The worse thing is I have the drainage bag and tube hanging out of my stomach! Yuck! I don't get it out until tuesday. I think I'll feel better after then.

Thanks for all your prayers!

Yes, I think that is a very normal thought - at least I know I went through those thoughts.

Each day gets better and better - walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
