How much more can I take?

My dad died unexpectedly in June.

In July my bf broke up with me the week after he told me he missed me so much after I got back from my dad's funeral, that he never wanted to let go of me.

Today my little silky terrier who has been my baby for 13 years died in my arms while I was waiting for my

vet to meet me at his office. She has had a heart murmur and has been on

Lasix since Nov. and today her little heart just gave out.

Oh boy, I am at goal and life still sucks.

Daisy, I am so sorry about your dog. They are our best friends and members of our families. You have had to endure a great deal recently, but in the end, you will come out a stronger person. I am sending lots of hugs your way.

Daisy, I am so sorry that you have had such a difficult time...so many losses at one time, it must seem overwhelming. The one loss that is a happy one is all the weight. Know that you have many friends here.

Awwww Daisy, I'm deeply saddened for your losses. But, know that I'm here if you want to chat. I agree with Susan, you'll be stronger and more determined in the end.

So sorry for your losses Daisy. Although it's difficult now, try to look on the positive side -- you got to have 90 years with your dad - that's a long time!

You got 13 years with your baby and for a small dog that, too, is a long time - and you were with her when she passed over to the Rainbow Bridge -- she is no longer in pain and will be there waiting for you one day. Eventually, with time, you may want to get another pet - it won't replace her; however, it will add happiness and joy to your life.

The thing with the BF - it's an indication that he is not the right one for you at this time in your life.

Mourn your losses, definitely; yet don't let them take over your life.

Thank you everyone. It was very hard to hold Abby in my arms while she struggled to breathe and feel her heart stop beating.

I do feel that this was better than having to have her put down, but it was extremely painful holding her in my arms while she suffered and gasped trying to breathe.

I don't think I ever want another dog. They just can't live as long as people, and I never want to go through that again.

My dad did live 90 long years and he wasn't happy since my mom died and all his friends were dead. It's just a lot to take

in such a short time.

Vegas, I am glad you're back and I hope you had a fabulous time!

I am still doing counseling, and I am starting ball room dancing classes soon. I also found a group of people through meetup.com to discuss books and videos in an area that I am very interested in. So I am meeting new people, and trying to get on with my life.

Thank you everyone for your care and concern.

Daisy -that's GREAT about the meetup group - and the Ballroom dancing, too - keep it up girl.

Please don't think I was trying to negate the passing of your father or your puppy - I've lost my mother and my cat of 21 years that I'd had since his birth, so I can relate to what you are going through. I held Sam in my arms as he passed too, through an injection, and it was so difficult -- having another pet doesn't replace the one you lost; however, it does help to bring joy to your life.

Keep up with your counseling and improving your social life and you'll find happiness again in your life.

Daisy, I'm so sorry about your little terrier. I have had pets through the years and it is so hard to loose them. When one of my toy poodles died 3 years ago, I cried for 2 days. I still have one and like you, when she is gone I don't think I will get another one. It's too heartbreaking on these old nerves. I'm sending hugs your way.

She was my first and only dog. I had dogs as a child but they were my parent's dogs.

There is no way I will ever go through this again. Losing her was horrible and I never want to go through that again. I am planning on traveling at the beginning of next month, and I keep thinking this could have happened while she was being boarded at a kennel.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It means a lot that so many people know that this is very painful.

Daisy,

I have been thinking about what to say to you for several days. I just can't think of anything else but to say I am soooo sorry for your losses. Please remember the good times, this may help a little. It is hard but remember that Abby is probably running through a field of wild daisies chasing butterflies now. She may even be helping your father through this next stage of his new life. I am a firm believer that when we pass on from this life that we go on to something else that is bigger and better. Just take care of yourself as I'm sure that is what they would both want.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
