Looking for Texas Sleevers???

Recommended Posts

OMG - I don't know what I'm thinking, not paying attention I guess. You're in NE Texas, not NW!!! We lived in Henderson for 20 yrs before we left the Lone Star State....I bet you know where that is.....well, maybe not, it's a little town, not far from Tyler, Longview....just a hop, skip and a jump from Kilgore! We are hoping to sell soon, we've been 'on the market' for almost 11 months. People are not clamoring to move to central Wisconsin. Go figure! LoL Our fingers and toes are crossed!!! Thanks for the encouragement. I am sure I prayed for patience at some point when the girls were young, and NOW I'm being taught and tested!!! I hope you've had a nice day......take care, it was great hearing from you!!!! Keep in touch if you think of it and have time!

Hey girl,

Very happy to hear from you. No the wild fires have not touched us here in the piney woods, but last time I was in FW the big digital signs around 820 west were flashing the warnings and that was last month. I forget how truly big our state is. I love it!

wow Los Colinas is such a nice area and so busy. I love going there and glad you will be living there soon. I understand the aging parent recall, I moved to NE Tx to help my mom with my grandparents and really miss being home. Thanks for responding and keep in touch. Let me know how the move is going. May your house go soon and for a good price. Welcome home!

Hi Jovigrl62!! My dad lives in Longview and my in-laws live right outside of Tyler. Small world! We just changed realtors....or will be this week. The contract with the other realtor expired at midnight this past Friday. We'd been listed with them for a yr!!! It is time to try something new, fresh...shake it up a little. We are hopeful. This lady is a certified stager too, so she tells us what to do, where to put things, what to put away. She had us paint the kitchen a neutral color. Our fingers are crossed - it would be nice to move before fall!!! Thanks.....we appreciate all prayers!.

I'm in San Antonio. I'm getting sleeved on June 28th with Dr. Cavazos. I would really like to meet others who have been with him. I am very anxious to learn as much as I can and get myself mentally prepared.

No. I had my surgery at a downtown hospital because of the revision specialist I used. It is too far for me to drive downtown on a weekday to their support groups. If you know of any in the area, let me know!

Did you ever get a support group going? I plan to have my sleeve done on July 22nd. I live in N Spring but will be going to school in Tomball come July.

:) Carmen

I would like to join the support group and I live in Tomball, TX off Spring Cypress near 249. Could we just meet at a restaurant the first time and discuss locations?

I live near Katy. I live in Cypress. I go to Katy all the time to visit my grandchildren. Are you willing to be a buddy? I just had my surgery on June 22nd and am progressing every day. I noticed you are 9 months out! Wow! That is impressive. I know it will be a different me in nine months. I can't wait.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
