Dr. Ross McMahon - Seattle, WA

Recommended Posts

I have a consultation scheduled with Dr. McMahon at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. I met him at an information session and came away with a very good impression. Has anyone used Dr. McMahon for their surgery, and would you recommend him to others?

I had a sleeve with Dr. McMahon just three weeks ago. I think he's fantastic. I was off my pain meds within three or four days. I'm having some problems with nausea, but he's been incredibly attentive and helpful in dealing with this stuff. I highly recommend him.

I have my surgery scheduled with Dr. McMahon in January. How is everyone doing now? Is the weight staying off? Were you happy with Dr. McMahon's follow up?

~Dr. Peter Billing Edmonds, Wa ~

I had my surgery on 12/11 by Dr. Peter Billings. Pudget Sound Surgery Center. However, he also has privileges at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. I had an awesome experience! They have just been such a blessing in my life. My sleeve was done at Evergreen Hospital. Wonderful staff that made you feel very comfortable. Highly recommend Dr. Billing.

Hi Carmella,

I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr. McMahon on January 8th. I met him and Danielle (one of his dieticians) at their info session in August and was very impressed with them and the program. Every person I have interacted with on his staff has been helpful and friendly and I couldn't be happier with the way things have gone so far.

My husband and i had our surgeries in May and are doing great! My husband has gone from 318 to 189 currently (we had the same starting weight yikes lol.) and I am inching towards goal. I can't say enough good things about the folks at Swedish WL - You guys should go to the support group meetings which meet every second saturday of the month - I am hoping to make melsue's acquaintance soon :)

Best of luck you guys - it can sometimes be a bit rocky after surgery but it is soooo worth it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
