Dr. Jay/Surgery Center of Richardson

Recommended Posts

I'm having my surgery with Dr. Jayaseelan at The Surgery Center of Richardson. Anyone know the minimum amount of time I can expect to be there??? I see that some people do a 23 hour hospital stay. What does he do if you need to stay for a while? Do they do overnight there??? I'm really curious as to how this works since it isn't a hospital.

What type of surgery are you having? I had a regular LapBand at another place but with a surgeon that also uses SCOR....he kept me about 3 hrs after surgery. Unless they have worked something out by now, SCOR won't take insurance for fills (they are $150 cash), so I'm having to go to another clinic (I get them there for a co-pay each time).

I just saw your thread. I had surgery with dr.jay at SCOR and i stayed there about three hours after surgery. They make you walk around a little and also the take an X-ray to make sure everything is fine and u must at least urinate once before u leave. I wish u lots of luck with your surgery and your journey with losing weight. if u have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hubby and I used Dr. Powell, but Hubby had his surgery at SCOR. He was in surgery at 8ish and out around noon. They were even nice enough to give my sis-in-law and myself lunch from the italian place next door. :D

Best of luck to ya!! We have been very pleased with SCOR.

I feel GREAT!!! I was working by Tuesday and have been going all weekend. My port incision is a little sore, but usually only at the end of the day or after I eat/drink. It isn't anything big.

Dr. Jay did an awesome job. I have nothing but glowing reviews for SCOR too!!!!

It appears I am going to be a self pay person. Can you guys get specific about the money? I have found prices in the U.S. anywhere from $12000 to

$22,000 for a lap band surgery. I need this to be the only surgery I ever have to pay for. Please get to the nitty gritty when you talk about prices and the cost of all steps of this procedures. Also, when you finish with this, is it something you can drive yourself home from or do you need someone else. Please give me details. Money is tight and this is a lot of money. I don't want to have any more regrets in my life.

All I can tell you about is Dr J's office charges $15,000 for the whole shooting match. Doctor, hospital, gaspasser. I'm not sure if the fills are included, but he charges my DW $50 (she had insurance). They required a stress test for her....that's about it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
