We forgot to mention that we were "discovered" in the Casino and offered a lucrative contract with Jubilee!

Mary -Socagal:

I loved the " Vegas Show Girls Pic"! -lol

What did you mean by your were noticed by the Jubilee mean?

I have a Photobucket account of my own but I could not see your pictures Socagal since your put yours as private. I was able to see Barb465's pictures now that is strange, unless she put her photo's so that all can see.

The password is Junebies-try that.

The Jubilee comment was a JOKE Leece! It was in reference to the showgirl photo. Jubilee is a showgirl show at Bally's where we stayed.

Your pics are great Mary. Thanks for posting. I still love the show girl one. We are famous! The link worked fine for me. Don't know if its because I have an account or not. I liked your captions. I need to go back and do that to mine so others can know who is who.

I go for fill tomorrow at 12:45. Having pork chops for my last supper. I don't think I'll be able to eat much once they fill me up. I just hope I can keep it and not have to have it taken out.

I'm still laughing over the pics. Thanks Mary and Barb for posting. I don't remember posing for some of those (especially the parrot hat pic). Must have been the Protein drinks.< /p>

DH wasn't too impressed with the pic of my "arrest". Ooops!

He did take the glamour pic to work.

Thanks guys for a wonderful time. I'll never forget it.

Good luck Barbara4 and Melissa on the fills.

My luck held out on the trip home. Sat across from Bill Biezza (newscaster in Houston). Man is he cute in person. Helped me with my carryon!

Miguel you are doing great. What a difference 60 lbs makes. I had my fill a few hours ago. Got the chills as usual about an hour afterwards. No other side effects so far. Had some Soup and still hungry. Hope this one gives me some restriction without major PBs.

He wanted to know why I stopped losing. I had only lost 1/4 lb from my last fill. Although disappointed, I was so glad it wasn't a gain. Especially after all the Protein drinks I had in Vegas. It definitely could have gone the other way. He wants me not to eat soup or liquids at all. He thinks I'm eating easy foods and that's why I'm not losing. I'm not losing because I've had ice cream and Cookies and queso and chips! I'm going to try and do better.

Hope yours goes well Melissa. You can enjoy the 4th and then get down to it. Let us know.

Hope everyone else is doing well. It's time for me to renew my efforts and get busy getting this weight off. DH and I are going on a cruise for Christmas. I would like our pictures to show a slimmer me!!!

Barb4 --glad to hear that your fill is progressing as it normally does. That's a good sign. I hope that you get some restriction from this fill. I can not wait for my fill. I'm so ready for it. I've seriously cut back on my own since returning from Vegas. Taking Pinky's advice ....counting calories (which I so never wanted to do again). And no more starbucks in the morning....I got into that bad habit when I was moving. So far so good this week. I haven't even missed it. But I will admit my ice tea habit has picked up a bit, ever so slightly (1 to 2 more glasses each day). Not ready to work on removing caffeine from diet. That's too darn stressful for me.

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Hi all,

I was banded last saturday and so far i've lost eight pounds, I'm finding it hard to eat much. I get hungry and then i eat but can only fit three or four spoon fulls in or a small petit falou. Reckon may calorie intake is about 500 calories per day. Does this kind of retriction pass?

skinnyirishbabe ---congrats on being banded last week. Yes, the post-op restriction will fade. There will come a time you most likely wish that you could have this restriction again just to get you over the "humps" you face from time to time on your journey.

Best wishes!

Melissa

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
